2025-2026 French Figure Skating

Davide Lewton Brain seems to be on the roll this year, even if he didn't qualify for the OG at the Qualifier. He got himself another medal, a bronze 🥉 , this time at the Swiss Open with 196.99 points. Xavier Vauclin ended up in 10th place with 169.88 points. Regrettably Corentin Spinar withdrew.

In jr men 3 Frenchies participated ending in 6th, 7th and 8th with 143.08, 128.43 and 123.54 points respectively. Their names? Daniel Verbat (6), Sylvain Ritchie (7) and Lenny Olivier (8).

There were no French participants in Adv Novice boys.

Lea Serna also was succesfull as she grabbed the bronze 🥉as well in the women's discipline with 170.61 points. There were no other French women.

In jr women the only French participant, Milana Mozeiko, ended in 8th with 115.23 points. Her compatriot, Mila Bertsch, had withdrawn before skating a programme.

No French girls participated in the Adv Novice girls.

Well done everybody! :cheer::cheer::hap10::hap10:

At the Tirnavia Ice Cup in Slovakia Ian Vauclun (a single's only competition) is scheduled to compete in the men's, while Lorine Schild and Eve Dubecq will take part in the women's competition. Ines Belot will participate in the jr women's competition.

In the adv novice boys Lenny Gagneux Quakinine will take part, there won't be any adv novice girls from France.

Naturally we're all interested in the GP (Skate Canada International) with a French presence in the men's event (our beloved Kevin is skating there), but there was another competition this weekend in which there was some French representation. At Tirnavia Ice Cup in Slovakia

Ian Vauclin was first in the men's event with 177.45 points. 🥇 :points:
Lorine Schild was first in the women's event with 181.85 points 🥇:points:, and Eve Dubecq second 🥈:cheer:with 150.35 points.

In jr women Ines Belot was 7th with 108.72 points. :hap10:

Well done everybody!

Our beloved Kevin did not fare so well at the GP in Canada. He was fifth in the SP with 87.46 points- and the scores were all very close together, but his FS did not go very well. He got 142.64 points for that and was 11th. Overall he was 10th. However dire this may seem: he could laugh about it. So I'm going to give him a big cheer any way. Hurrah for Kevin. :hap10: :hap10: :hap10: :hap10: :hap10:

He posted in his Instagram story that he was so happy he landed his 4T, as he has been practicing it hard these last couple of weeks. So I think he got over excited and made a few mistakes. But he will be ready for Skate America in 2 weeks.

In Graz, Austria, the Skate Challenge competition will take place from 5-11 november 2025. No French skaters among the seniors, but in jr men Elian Thomann will compete, in jr women Anne-Sophie Heurtebis, in jr pairs Ninon Dapoigny and Connor O'Gray and in jr ID four couples: Angelina Cucherat and Leopold Hernandez-Laquin, Lea Hienne and Louis Vareson, Ambre Perrier Gianesini and Samuel Blanc Klaperman as well as Romy Reverchon and Victor di Muzio.

In adv novice boys Baptiste Gellon and Lorenzo Heurtebis (brother of Anne-Sophie?) will compete while three girls will compete in adv novice: Naomi Guyot, Olga Lepage and Lola Wang. No French in Adv novic pairs, but they do turn up in adv novice ID: Lou-bella Lemair and Mael Quinquis.

Good luck to this contingent of skaters!

At the GP in Japan, NHK Trophy, Francois Pitot really held his own. He was 8th in the end with 229.47 points. However, the menning around him resulted in this unflattering result, as he was 6th and 7th in the SP and FS respectively. Well done Francois! :cheer: :love4:
The Kovalevs in Pairs were not so successful. Camille fell and dislocated her shoulder, so they had to withdraw. That's very sad. 😢:love3:

Just a small recap of the French in GP Skate America.

Our beloved Kevin won with 253.53 points! Lots has been said about the scores, that it was a strange up and down event, that menning even happened at pairs, let alone the men, but Kevin got his first gold medal on the circuit. Hurrah! Hurrah! 🥇 :love3: He was so happy. Just wonderful for him.

It was a busy few days in figure skating!

Golden Spin of Zagreb
Kévin Aymoz continues his season of greater stability and strong performances with a nice showing and a win here - but unfortunately his scores of 87.52 for the SP and 152 for the FS will need to be higher for him to be competitive at the bigger competitions this season. It was great to see Luc Ecoonomides do well also, winning the bronze here.

Léa Serna and Lorine Schild have gone back and forth this season, and this time Léa had the upper hand. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top at nationals. I'm guessing the winner there will get France's lone Olympics Women's spot

Dance continues to be a bright spot with Loïcia Demougeot / Théo le Mercier winning silver and Célina Fradji / Jean-Hans Fourneaux, who recently moved up from juniors, with a respectable eighth place showing.

Men's
Kévin Aymoz
SP 1st / FS 1st / Overall 1st 🥇

Luc Economides
SP 4th / FS 4th / Overall 3rd 🥉

François Pitot
SP 11th / FS 8th / Overall 9th

Davide Lewton Brain (MON)
SP 15th / FS 15th / Overall 16th

Women's

Lorene Schild
SP 9th / FS 8th / Overall 9th

Pairs
Aurélie Faula / Théo Belle
SP 5th / FS 3rd / Overall 4th

Megan Wessenberg / Denys Strekalin
SP 11th / FS 8th / Overall 10th

Dance
Loïcia Demougeot / Théo le Mercier🥈
RD 3rd / FD 2nd / Overall 2nd

Célina Fradji / Jean-Hans Fourneaux
RD 6th / FD 9th / Overall 8th

Louise Bordet / Martin Chardain
RD 11th / FD 11th / Overall 11th

Junior Grand Prix Final
Dance continues to be a bright spot for France.

Dance
Ambre Perrier Gianesini / Samuel Blanc Klaperman
RD 3rd / FD 2nd / Overall 2nd 🥈

Dania Mouaden / Théo Bigot
RD 5th / FD 5th / Overall 4th

Grand Prix Final
After a bit of a slow start to the season, Adam Siao Him Fa placed 2nd at both his GP events, but he wasn't able to continue that success. His 78.59 in the SP and 180.15 in the FS are far off what he needs to be in medal contention.

Laurence Fournier Beaudry / Guillaume Cizeron came in second in the this round of their much-anticipated showdown with Madison Chock / Evan Bates.

Men's
Adam Siao Him Fa
SP 5th / FS 5th / Overall 5th

Dance
Laurence Fournier Beaudry / Guillaume Cizeron

Nationals this weekend.
Results are here: https://ffsportsdeglace.fr/resultats/2025-2026/ELITES2025/

As the French had a Free stream, I made use of that availability and watched both the FD and the men's FS. What an evening.

I mean: French ID must be the most experimental en innovative in the World. And, they've also got Laurence and Guillaume. But long before their FD Marie Dupayage and Thomas Nabaige caught mij interest. Such wonderful movements. I wish Evgeniia and Geoffrey had more of a connection though. It's there in the K&C, why not during the dance? Laurence and Guillaume do that very well, despite only skating together for a relatively short time. Well done to all. I was fascinated by all dances.

The men were also a nice surprise. When Kevin is on, he is on. With or without a quad, but his Bolero is so wonderful to watch. And his reaction in the K&C was priceless again! I was pleased to see Adam doing better than earlier in the season, although he definitely is not yet at his peak.
