Is it possible that a positive result turn negative for doping?
And after all, someone can be in the same situation than Jessica Calalang. Some "doping" substances are in products used everyday.
The issue is that it takes months to clear the athlete.
That’s what I’m concerned about. That someone used the wrong shampoo or toothpaste or something

What does Eteri do to these poor girls? I can’t imagine they will let her skate from team event stand, so there goes her records and achievements and even if they let her skate the individual her medal would be scrutinized. Why would her training camp feel like they need to do this. She has so much talent, she didn’t need the help. :(

Team USA would get an Olympic gold medal if Russia dq'ed and everyone else would move up a notch. Canada would make the podium. I hope it is not marijuana. I think these drug tests can be ridiculous considering how everyone runs to GNC to take vitamins and supplements to improve performance yet athletes can't take proper cold medicine or cannabis - which is a pain reliever.
Athletes can take cold medicine just not certain types and Marijuana is illegal in a lot of places including Russia

Jackie Wong said just an hour ago that USA Today doesn't publish without verification, and since USA today points a finger at a different skater, I am not sure this isn't a hoax. Unless Team Russia had a wild party in Krasnoyarsk...
I understand that there are conflicting things. I'm still waiting for more information about all of this.

My post was more to present the fact that the reporter for Inside the Games has a credential.

It depends. If this is a long investigation like the State sponsored Pee lab, there could be other consequences. If someone is operating "rouge" doping or takes the fall, then you are correct.
I'm sure spellcheck is to blame, but Rouge doping sounds like a make-up violation. I am envisioning skaters with bright red clown cheeks and can't stop laughing! 😂

You actually don't know if she doesn't need help. She is talented but at the end of her program she breathes very heavily. I'm not saying she takes anything but there are drugs for stamina. It could be a cold substance as well.

So if Nikita (he's a cutie) were barred, could Evan B. then move up and join the rest of the Russian team getting the gold? And then the Japanese ice dancer would join the US team for silver??

I remember that Nicklas Backstrom from Sweden (GO CAPS!) had some issue with not being able to play in the gold medal game in the 2014 games cause of a positive test, which turned out to be an allergy medication. He wasn’t able to play in the game, but he was eventually awarded a silver medal.

So, I think there are a few scenarios here. The worst is obviously that Kamila/her team took a banned substance knowingly, which I find highly unlikely. There is also a possibility that she accidentally did something (painkillers, medicine, etc.) that would lead to a positive test. Since it's not performance enhancing based on previous info, there is probably no issue with the individual results, just with the fact that an athlete used a banned substance and as such would have to be banned from competition for a set time, which is complicated since this is a positive test from (probably) Euros, not the Olympics. It's also possible that the issue is not with Kami but as previously speculated with Nikita and cannabis. This is honestly the most likely scenario to me, he's been having back issues and it would not surprise me if he used a pain cream or something similar with a banned substance or CBD in it. I don't think Eteri would allow her skaters to have anything even remotely close to an issue because of the risks, so that's why I am shocked that it is Kamila. If it is a false positive or created from some weird chemical reaction, this could take days to clear up. Kamila is the only under-16 involved, so as long as it's not her we should get clear statements from the ISU and IOC. The problem with it being Kamila, whether it was intentional or accidental, is the chance that it could affect Anna and Sasha because they train together and might use some of the same medical supplies or substances.

But once we figure out who it is, if it's intentional or accidental, etc. we now have to deal with the issues associated with rescoring. Do we disqualify the points for ROC but leave the discipline standings as before? Do we shift each placement up one and rescore?

There are medical exemptions, Simone Biles for instance takes a banned substance for ADHD, but had a therapeutic exemption
Actually, this isn't true. She stopped taking it years ago. It's just a favorite quote of the "everyone dopes what we did wasn't that bad" crowd.

But, yes athletes can get exemptions for medications they need.
