Michelle kwan, Mao asada, yuna kim(took me awhile to appreciate and enjoy her skating, though), gordeeva/grinkov, virtue/Moir, Meryl/charlie (took me awhile to appreciate and enjoy their skating though, I would say their music of the night long program at 2010 Olympics sold me), evgeny plushenko, Jeremy Abbott (he just wasn't consistent though)....luxury hanyu of course, Javier, chan (I think he has the smoothest edges, just floats across the ice, but inconsistent), jun Hwan cha will be great, I think
Ok. But look at their ages.
Jun Hwan Cha will be great, yes. But you can say this about many Russian girls. They have chance to be great, too.

Me too. She's got potential she just needs a good coach.I like Julia L. I am rooting for her to make a come back

I would love to see her make a comeback too, but it's about more than her coach. She needs to find joy in her skating, and that will translate to better performances. Before, her body would allow her to almost automatically reel off clean performances, and that technical ability would keep her at the top. But now that she's grown, she isn't as technically reliable, so she needs to develop other aspects of her skating to stay competitive.

She needs a good free skate that she can execute more than anything. She's been reliable in the SP even in the bad times. They need to give her a FS that is like two SP's put together sneakily or something to trick her into being the awesomeness she should be. Her spins are better than ever and her expression and the lines she creates with her body have all improved so much and it's mostly because she's slowed everything down and holds out the movements better.

That's a tall proposition because Julia is only consistent with a certain set of triples (her salchow is weak and her flutz is still there). So basically it narrow down her SP jumps to flip and 3T+3T (unless she learns 3F+3T or 3L+3T which is unlikely).
It's why many ladies skaters are strong in the SP but come the FS they start showing weaknesses on certain triples (usually harder triples that they don't attempt in the SP but are forced to attempt in the FS to be competitive). The men it's not really an issue because they present their strongest jumps (quad and 3A) in the SP and in the FS.. and the rest of the triples are easier in comparison to reel off.

You guys want to know who got robbed? Chock and Bates did two fresh and innovative programs and the judges punished them by placing them second to C/L. UGHHH! G/P had an amazing SD and were placed only third to a boring and tired programs from C/L. :hslap:
The competition was in Europe, and C/L are a popular European dance team. Of the 7 judges on the panel, 5 were European (GER ITA BLR FRA RUS) the other two were USA and CAN, and you know the Canadian judge was backing G/P, not Chock/Bates. The tech team was FRA, SVK---and Marie Bowness, CAN.
