About the FD... looks promising, they seem to be gelling well as a couple. Some technical issues still to be ironed out but I think in time things will come together. Overall packaging is very nice.

(just seeing pictures and never seeing them dancing together) They remind me a little bit of Navka/Kostomarov. :)

4th place overall is a decent debut but 41 on TES (lower than Stepanova/Bukin). The program itself was enjoyable to watch, especially considering the over dramatics of some of the others. The blues music turned out to be a good choice in the end. But low forties for the technical mark ain't cutting it. Marina needs to hire a tech specialist.

Very hard fall in the FD today. And some ridiculous comments from detractors. But I just hope Vika is not injured, the rest doesn't matter.

I really hope they're checking her for a concussion. I'm worried about her. It looked like she fell on her hip but also hit her head. I sincerely hope they took her right to an emergency room, just in case.

Until the fall, they did seem very much improved! I'm not ready to count them out just yet.

I don't want to count them out either!
Other than that, I just feel like they need to talk to each other and start working together. If only he allows himself to trust Vika more....

Nikita is trying too hard to keep things business-like. I think that that has become an obstacle which is preventing them from working as a team.

 I know! He really needs to get slapped on the face and see that he has a beautiful partner that's willing to work with him.

Yup. I think she trusts him but he is wary of reciprocating that trust. Maybe he is worried about wrecking another partnership after the previous one got too personal. Perhaps over-compensating. *shrugs*

I made a post about this in the free dance thread and I'm still thinking it over:

I think though that their problem is mainly mental. He's certainly physically strong enough. She's a wisp of a thing. They need to trust each other more and not be so tense. Every movement of one of them needs to match the other and trust the other with their life - otherwise they'll never feel fully secure and tense up and overthink everything, which is dangerous (as we saw).

Well, its still two people who make a partner / relationship not one alone ;)

And falling in love is natural, it happens everywhere be it at work, in your sports team or even by just sitting on a bench at a rainy day...

I was sad about their lift issues in the FD because prior to the lift, there were notable improvements in certain aspects of their skating and FD. I wish them all of the best in future competitions! And I certainly am not counting them out yet. They've only been together for a short time; and improvements are being made. :)

I agree with those that stated they're not quite yet gelled as a team. I could see where perhaps they're making it too much of a business deal and not doing the talking/communicating that they really need to be doing if they want to continue to improve and have chances for success.
