Just finished watching Prince Ice World broadcast... and Wakaba was the star of the show for me! Fabulous flamenco routine, I loved the costume, and she looked beautiful! Popped her salchow, but apart from that it was a great performance. Commentators said she went to a flamenco dancer to learn the arm movements...

Her "Annie" costume later, was funny too :-D

I expect youtube/dailymotion videos will soon appear, but I watched the whole thing via fujitv.live - which seems based in America, and nothing to do with Fuji TV in Japan. It's a paid service, but they are running a promotion right now, for a month or so, where you can watch everything for free. If you try it, go to "BS", channel 021 "BS Japan", choose date 5/14, 11:30 in the schedule is Prince Ice World. Lots of other skating stuff appears on that channel too, and also on the J-Sports4 channel.

^^Very excited about the Gypsy Dance SP. It has some great, fiery sequences along with slow, dramatic parts that will showcase her skills really well. Love the music. Hope we'll see it in a show soon (maybe with a red costume?).

ETA -- Really like the contrast in the programs. Ballet for the SP and something more modern for the FS.

The nikkansports article says we will see it for the first time at Kanto Summer Trophy in Chiba City, August 3-6?
I hope the TV cameras will be there...! I can't wait to see her new programs!

3A is risky, but if she can land it successfully, it could give her a decisive competitive edge. Especially when it comes to selecting Japan's Olympic team...

Wakaba won the Summer Trophy, with a 62.39 in the SP and 131.49 in the LP. Not a bad start for this early in the season!

LP jumps:
2A 3Lz3T 2S // 3Lz3T 3Lo 2A2T(-0.2GOE) 3F(!)

That first 2A is pretty obviously a place holder for the 3A, makes sense she doesn't include it in this early a competition. I still wished she would simply go for a 2A3T instead of the 2nd 3Lz3T, but oh well, only leaves me the choice of hoping she'll always hit the combo like this.

Higuchi has some weak set up for her layout. Why putting her weakest jump as the last jump? And two 3lz3T... so prone to mistakes.
