Wenjing Sui & Cong Han

Right! Sorry, I didn't notice.

And thanks for an explaining about 'big brother'. I kind of guessed "little' before Sui name means she's just considered young, but I didn't know the family pharses are so common in China :)

You're right that "Little" before Sui means she is a young adult. "Little" and "Old" before family names is common among peers such as coworkers and friends. "Xiao" (Little) before a given name, e.g. Xiao Xue, or one of the words from the given name, e.g. Xiao Jing, is an affectionate name for a child or a young woman, from someone older of course.

Can't believe she managed to skate and land the throws with torn ligaments and tendons  I don't follow pair skating much, but really like Sui/Han after watching their Stray Cat strut last season. Been following them since. Hope everything goes well with her rehabilitation, looking forward to see them on ice again.

They were so wonderful at Worlds. And they skated so well considering that she was probably having pain. The audience loved them. The short program especially (for me) was phenomenal.:points:

Yeah! I know for a fact that Sui/Han have lots of audience/public support, especially after their Boston 2016 short program. They won both of IceNetwork's "best SP/best FS" polls after all :cheer:

Saw them at Skate America too, and that FS is really spectacular too. Loved the Samson and Delilah music That one move where he is holding her upside down and he goes into a spread eagle just about gave me a heart attack every time I saw it. And it says above that for the new program, the content is at a higher level? How is that even possible?! :eeking:

Yeah I'm curious about the upgrade in tech content as well!

Wait, did the program info explicitly say that there would be higher tech content? Maybe it meant a higher level content in terms of actual choreography, transitions, that kind of stuff.

She said the program content was raised much higher than last year's and the effect of the program was more like a show program's.

When talking about the program, she focused on the content, the story, its effect and their interpretation. There is no direct reference to the technical content, not that we can rule out a higher level in that aspect as well but it does not seem to be the cause of her enthusiasm.

I thought I read from an article someone translated here that it would be higher level content, but it didn't give the specifics of what exactly that meant, just as you mentioned.. I guess we'll just have to be in suspense for awhile! The anticipation is killing me! :drama: :p

According to this tweet, Sui and Han will be performing in Art on Ice this summer (????). According to an earlier interview, doctors cited that the surgery recovery would take around 4 months. So why are they skating in a show so soon?

Just when I think the Chinese fed can't get any worse, they go ahead and outdo themselves

Maybe Cong will just carry her around? Why would the fed risk the recovery of such a valuable skater?

i. dont. get. it :dbana: whats the point of making them perform and risk injury again even if (and thats a BIG if) she is recovered enough to skate :ohwell: but maybe psusanne is right and The Forever Loyal Knight will carry her around

My brain can't comprehend it. It refuses to acknowledge this information. :scratch3:

***, and they were saying themselves(coaches, fed, etc) that she can't even get back on the ice until what, september? nice going, csa, you've really outdone the french and korean fed in sabotaging your own skaters.

Are Wenjing and Cong just planed to show up on ice and to say hello to the audience without performances? If not, I'm puzzled over the federation's illogical decision. Wenjing needs to heal her body completely before the next season. Or is the informant on twitter confused with other pair teams like Wang/Wang or one of the new paired teams arranged by the federation?

The weibo message from the show suggests they will actually skate/perform. The only arrangement I can see working is if Han is lifting/holding Sui the entire 2-4 minutes of skating. And that doesn't seem like a possibility when they're apparently going to perform adagio with S/Z. Really disappointed in Zhao especially; I thought he wanted better for his pupils- first the messy splits and now this.

:confused2: The Olympics is coming just in two years, but what the federation is thinking. They are top contenders capable of bringing in a gold home if they stay healthy.
