Holy moly, I’ve been listening to the Halo theme song and it would work so well for figure skating. Does anyone know if any skater skated to it in a competition before?

Not sure about it in competition, but didn't Katia Gordeeva skate to it in a show?

Lady gaga bad romance

Funny you should be listening to Lady Gaga on Friday evening, because her version of "A Star Is Born" (2018) was expiring from BBC iPlayer that night. (It had been shown on the TV over the Christmas period, and was available for 30 days afterwards).

With all the skating that has been happening in January, I didn't get a chance to watch before it expired. So, I opened the video and paused it, and left the computer on overnight, something I don't like doing. And I put it on on Saturday evening after tea-time.

Unfortunately, the phone rang when we were 1h 22m into it, and we didn't get back to it. So the computer had to be left on another night. By the time Sunday morning came, the computer was really struggling. And, unfortunately, Firefox ended up crashing. So I didn't see the end of it.

Well, I had watched Judy Garland's version of the film (1954) a few days beforehand, so I knew how the story would end. But, I was enjoying the new film, and would have liked to see the rest.

I haven't seen the 1937 or 1976 versions. But, from what I have seen of the other two, I really can't understand how the 1976 and 2018 films can be classed as re-makes of the 1937 and 1954 films. Yes, they all have the same outline story. But, apart from that, the stories are totally different. The earlier two films are about the film industry, and the later two films are about the music industry.

Anyway, getting back to the 2018 film, I was surprised with how many songs I knew. I didn't even realise that they were from the film!

So, here is a song I absolutely love that was in it:

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper - "Shallow"

Hopefully I'll be able to find somewhere soon to watch the rest of the film.

Two songs that I was unfamiliar with that Marilena Kitromilis mentioned in an interview she did with the Cyprus Mail newspaper:

Kim Tae-Yeon - "Spark"

Twice - "I Can't Stop Me"

I really liked both of the songs. (Of course I do - they're incredibly beautiful Korean girls with nice singing voices! )

Happy 90th birthday to John Williams!

In celebration, John Williams conducting the Tabernacle Choir in Call of the Champions (the fanfare he composed for the 2002 Winter Olympics).

The Wolf - Sweeplings

Lyrics
I knew a wolf, a weary one
Come through the gates with iron tongue
Keep the wolf, keep the wolf at the door
Out of the gray the beast may roam
Hang on the words no harm will come
Hide away, hide away from you
Keep quiet, quiet, quiet, quiet
Stay silent, silent, silent, silent
Keep quiet, quiet, quiet, quiet
Don't make a move
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
Away from the shadow on the wall
Outside the howl bringing you on
Keep the wolf, keep the wolf at the door
Hide away, hide away from you
Keep quiet, quiet, quiet, quiet
Stay silent, silent, silent, silent
Keep quiet, quiet, quiet, quiet
Don't make a move
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
Ah ah ah
When my colors rise, fill the room
I don't know where they gather to
Claiming what is ours and has been
It won't be lost again
We won't be quiet, quiet, quiet
Stay silent, silent, silent, silent
We won't be quiet, quiet, quiet
Together we move
We won't be quiet, quiet, quiet
Stay silent, silent, silent, silent
We won't be quiet, quiet, quiet
Together we move
