First I listened to the Christmas song which Geoff Castellucci posted this year, but after that I listened to “Mele Kalikimaka” which he posted two years ago and I liked it more than the first one.

When I was watching the TV pictures of all the baggage stacking up because of the Southwest Airlines flight cancellations, I thought of one of my favorite Monte Python songs: I'm So Worried: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvzCuJUqqvw. I think it would be good music for Riku and Ryuichi to skate an exhibition number to after their experience trying to get to Japanese Nationals. (My wife was English and I have flown into Heathrow quite a few times.)

The complete Carmina Burana - The Philadelphia Orchestra conducted by Eugene Ormandy. We're attending a perfomance of Carmina Burana tomorrow afternoon (by the Opera Company of Philadelphia). My husband is familiar with "O, Fortuna," but I wanted him to hear the entire cantata before tomorrow's performance.

Since @iluvtodd mentioned Carmina Burana, I wanted to share my favorite part: a drinking song called "While We Are In the Tavern" ("In Taberna Quando Sumus"). It's 100% worth a listen; if you do, please also watch the lyrics/subtitles for maximum enjoyment.

The crowd in the bar is fairly sober as the piece begins. However, that doesn't last very long and things get going big time around 1:40-1:45. You can almost see the steins waving and beer foam flying through the air!

speaking as a soprano, I feel deprived. Us girls wanna have fun, too!
Still, since the "In Taberna" text is from the 11th-12th centuries -- when respectable women couldn't even set foot in a bar -- it does make sense that Orff scored it for men only. And my frustration aside, the Cologne Men's Choir sounds wonderful in the video.
