To add to your points, her Asian rivals, Yuna, Miki, and Mao, are not only very talented, but also seem to focus almost exclusively on skating. Although they are students, it seems that they barely go to school because of the training in the US/Canada. Although they would study on their own and would have some school requirements they have to meet, their skating seems to so much more important for them and for the schools that appreciate their achievements. Besides, Mao and Yuna are exceptionally well funded by multiple sponsors. Miki had also had numerous top-cooperation sponsors and now is employed by a top global cooperation, Toyota, for her skating.
I wonder if Kimmie wants to focus on skating as much as Mao, Yuna and Miki do to stay competitive with them. It would depend on Kimmie's own priority in her life choices. I remember that Kimmie is studying something at college and that her parents appreciate her staying an ordinary kid.
