Who's Going to Worlds?

I just purchased a front row Loge seat for the Ex gala. Still not sure how I got it (feels surreal and a bit light headed right now). When I refreshed the page about 10 min ago that seat was available on ticketmaster. I don't think any other seat was added at this point. Hopefully more will be added soon.

I really hope it's not an error in the system.

I was able to do this as well! I thought it was strange, as all lower loge sections were listed as 'sold-out' earlier. I'm glad I could snag two front row tickets, even if they are at the end loge.

I think Ticketmaster has a refund/exchange policy that allows seats to be returned within 72 hours of purchase. Maybe that was it. There may be a few front row exhibition seats released next week, but I'm expecting that to be a large influx of inventory, not just a couple of seats. That's good news though, glad you got lucky :agree:.

How lucky! I totally forgot that I still need a gala ticket and have been madly checking the site for the past few days with only balcony seats available. Hopefully that influx of inventory do come through!

yeah in japan there's a black market for skating tickets lol. i know it's especially popular with their ice shows, not sure how it works for out-of-japan events. i remember meryl davis mentioning how sometimes she sees the exact same fans at all of the ice shows, in the same front row seats. even though the shows are supposed to be the same. it's crazy man. not sure if it's legal or not but it happens.

I am not going to mention any names but I see the same people pretty much at all US skating comps.....many are die hard fans. Some are my friends and some I have nicknames for. And some are just faces....I call us the hardcore 100.....many of us hang together during practices.....I would think a US skater who went to SA, and Nats, and Worlds, and TeamChallege would see many of the same faces at practice.....faces they would have seen over the years.....especially at nats....I know Ms. Davis has seen me many times since 2007, and not just at the USFS breakfasts....

Glad you scored too and thanks to Tammi for the inside info....I decided not to go to the gala even though there are some "hard of hearing" seats in the third row....if a friend is giving away their ticket, I might take it but I want to do some sight seeing.

At nats in Boston, there was no problem finding places to eat lunch and dinner.....breakfast is alittle harder but there is a place curiously called the ArtBar next to my hotel that has a full breakfast at an early hour...just the thing for those skating fans who hunger for early morning practices!

Yes, Art Bar is still there. :)

Boston Public Market opened within the past year. It is a trendy spot in the Haymarket area about a 10 minute walk from the TD Garden or you can take the subway one stop to Haymarket and it's right across the street. If you like locally grown ingredients, this place is a good lunch option. It's like an indoor farmer's market version of Faneuil Hall marketplace. https://bostonpublicmarket.org/

^ I second this. The only thing is that there's not enough seating in that space.

That looks fab! I'm spending the days checking out Boston, so I'll be sure to grab a meal there.

Just saw this in my daily state patrol bulletin....FYI anyone from the state of WA trying to board an airliner after Jan 10th with just a regular WA drivers license is out of luck. One needs either a passport, passport card, or an enhanced drivers license to fly after that date. I got the enhanced drivers license cause I didnt want to fly with my passport if not needed......

Thanks for the heads up!

By the way, if others are skipping on Ladies SP and Pairs SP on Thursday and Friday and want to meet up... let me know. :)

haha that sounds kind of fun. i wish i could afford to do that. it sucks cuz most of the skating events are always in the midwest, east coast, or canada. no love for the west coast when it comes to big skating events. :( i know team challenge cup is gonna be up in washington but it's still too far for me (california).

I would love more west coast events! Thankfully, team challenge cup is in Spokane, but I'm not sure if I'll able to attend due to school and the fact that I'm paying a lot of money to go to Worlds in Boston :(

FWIW, Skate America had a three year streak on the west coast a few years back (2010- Portland 2011- Ontario Calif and 2012 Seattle (Kent). It's been on a Midwest streak since then.

The Midwest still needs at least one more SkAm.

Ohio hasn't seen any action lately. Columbus, Cleveland? One more baby!!!
