To my surprise I have noticed that the Russian federation decided to send Martynova to Worlds. I knew that Piseev was very much invested in her.
But, how could they name her without waiting to see how she does at Junior Worlds? Especially since the two ladies who did the best at the Cup of Russia Final were supposed to get the spots. She didn't medal at the Nationals, the Euros, and Cup of Russia Finals, so why she should she be named to the World Team ahead of the ladies who did?
If the US federation pulled a stunt like that, they would have to deal with lots of outrage. Imagine if the US Fed decided to send Bebe instead of Alyssa to Worlds even though Bebe came behind Alyssa at Nationals.. People would be fuming so much that smoke would come out of their ears

) and Martinova can make the LP cut like last year. Plus the experience will help leading up to 2010. I'd rather see how the other Russian ladies do in the GP next season before putting too much confidence in them.
