Xiaoyu Yu & Hao Zhang

Loved their performances, so impressive - and amazing that they could threaten the World's podium after just one season...

The SP is gorgeous, my dream come. Yu's white dress is absolutely gorgeous, love the decoration on her hair too, complete package!! I have secretly wanted Yu to skate as the Princess Swan in Swan Lake, so here we are and guess what, Hao Zhang dressed in complete Black as the Black Knight. A fitting program for them. Their elements have power.

The FS music is beautiful as well though can't see properly, hopefully others will load a better quality program. Unfortunately, Yu made quite a few mistakes here and even had a bad fall from a throw but I am very happy that Hao went over to help her get up.

Of all the 3 Chinese pairs teams, my favorite programs are Peng/Jin's followed by Yu/Zhang's and then by Sui/Han's. I am not convinced of Sui/Han's music choices this year and 'Turandot' doesn't suit their personalities.

Their Skate America programs were wonderful, particularly the SP. Xiaoyu is the loveliest Swan Princess ever

By the way, I updated the OP.

It still find it amazing that they medalled in their first GP ever and just missed the podium at Worlds in their first season!

Now the Olympics is less than 2 weeks, so I must say their two programs are my favorites of this season across all disciplines. I love their competitors too, but their fanfest is relatively quite, so here I am.

I really enjoy their programs and love their gorgeous costumes fitting well for their themes in the programs.

I want them to medal at Olympics, but realistically the judges won't because they are treated as the 2nd Chinese pairs. However, we never know about Olympics and future. Just looking forward to seeing them soon!

I love their Swan too but the Star Wars LP is to die for!!! The music starts with Rouge One, magnificent, then moves on from there and they are at one with the theme.... looking forward to seeing them at Olympics.... have to say Pairs is by far my favorite discipline this time around with Chris & Alexa, and Vanessa & Morgan in the mix. Great skates to all my favs!!!

The only surprise in the new list was the absence of another renowned pair: Yu Xiaoyu and Zhang Hao. Zhao explained that this was due to the relapse and slow recovery of Yu's foot injury. Substituting for the pair will be young talents Wang Yuchen and Huang Yihang.

It's not really out of the blue since we all knew she had an injury since worlds.. but it's still sad 'cause they could have challenged for a final medal, and a stable four continents medal, and even for a world championship medal this season. Hope Xiaoyu gets better soon!

Fall was ouchy, but otherwise, such beauty! I like the costume design, but the material of the blue is eh- but Xiaoyu is so elegant she rocks anything. The SBS :luv17:
