Is there a solution?

It sounds as though some try this...

ps: all you have to do to watch youtubes on dialup is hit the pause button on the video and let it load completely while you do your sitting. then come out of IT and voila, your video is brewing and ready for enjoyment."

Is that working?

The reason I bring this up is that members like Toni who recently could not veiw Melissa and Denis, I feel really bad for and wish she could see her favorite dance team. That stinks. So I am wanting to find a solution to this so EVERYONE here can view these great skating clips that are on YouTube.

Anyone have a solution? Something working? How about on the video screen right click (or single mouse button Mac users, Control / click) and change the settings to low quality?

That last clip of Johnny, Melissa and Denis was so good it just got me thinking I wish everybody could see these great clips. Ya, other solutions like a friends connection or wait 'til its aired ... yadda yadda... But what about "I want it NOW!"

Just trying to help.

btw, IS Denis pronounced, Den ees or Den is. A friend (D.J.) first name is Dennis and wonder about how Mr. Petukhov's is pronounced - being from Russia originally.

I don't have dialup, but our connection at home is insanely slow. Anyway, I always hit the pause button and wait for the entire thing to load. I've noticed that I usually have to wait for the video actually to start - the first few seconds or so - and not hit pause before it starts loading. Otherwise nothing will happen even if you wait forever...

I'm not losing sleep over it... considering I used to just rely on ABC for skating coverage before moving in with my aunt who has ESPN and twenty million other channels missing out on a youtube clip isn't going to kill me... I don't need to have it NOW... I can wait. And I'm content with that. If I truly wanted to see it 'right then' I wouldn't get to see it without a long wait anyway... what's a few more days?

as for the pause idea - yeah it works but I can't sit here for 5 hours (which is how long it took to watch the Pirates 3 trailor) to wait for it to load.

AFAIK - everyone around him says it as it's spelled... but then they're all American... ;)

EEK, that is horrible. I am just throwing this out as a "maybe" because I heard it happening a lot and was surprised at people not knowing - you may already know. Check that you have a high quality phone cord. No chinssy little thing. The size / gauge of the wire will really make a big difference. May already know this, but even at a Computer company, I found a lot of people that didn't know and changed, making such a difference.

This at most would still be a 2-3 hour (comparison) download at best IF... but you probably already have a thick cord. JAT.
