Is SA caller back? Seems like he wouldn't ratify any 3-3 by the ladies.

Loks like it...
I would have thought Mao would be in the lead with a huge score, especially after yesterday's enormous scores in Men's, but it looks more like the judges tried to take from the ladies any surplus scores they gave to the boys. Very weird competition, indeed.

I liked Mao's layback and Miki's spiral. Nice to see the girls working on their elements. Great for Joannie, too. I hoped that landing the 3-3 would give her confidence for Worlds, but getting it downgraded might make her cautious instead... :(

Oh my, how on earth was Mao's 3-3 downgraded? It's one of the best she's done, and Rochette's 3-3 looked magnificant... I hate unfair calling :(

Rochette's 3-3 was definitely UR. It was at Nationals too but they gave her credit there anyway.

Anyone have Miki's SP?

So i see we have one of those callers this time. Mao's 3/3 was probably her best all season. Some of these technical callers are just being mean!

It's a different caller from SA. But he/she definitely woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning!
I don't agree with the downgrades, but at least they were applied evenly across the board.

I'm thinking Tech caller can determine placements in the events to come. If a caller like this shows up at worlds, congratulation Yu-na and Carolina.

Team Technical are correct.
Her first combination jump(3Flip-3Loop) underrotated.
(2loop)
And she had a 'e' mark with her wrong edge jump(3Flutz).

After watching Joannie Rochette's SP, it occurred to me that she looks fitter and thinner than usual. Does anyone else agree? She did skate a great clean program.

Yeah - There was no underrotations in that combo. As far as I am concerned the top 3 Ladies are in a tie, the and only way to break it, is in the LP.

I just don't know when to start counting the revolution. If you start counting when starting "rotating", neither Mao nor Joannie underrotated. But if you start counting when their entire foot leaves the ice, they definitely underrotated. I could only tell this on slow-mo. I just can not see those things on youtube clip with my naked eyes.

dying sport

This sport is dying. When fervent internet skating fans still can't agree on 'underrorating' after watching the slo-mo millions of times, you know figure skating is on death bed.

Too much power to so-called technical specialists...

You have to watch where the foot hits the ice. Joannie's looked almost exactly like the UR call on Nagasu at Nationals in the LP.

Same - look where the foot hits the ice (not where the upper body is rotated to). She struggled to hold the landing of the loop because it was SR
