Yulia Lipnitskaya

Someone who is Eteri's daughter(or an elaborate impersonator who controls Diana Davis fan group... and she's not big enough to attract impersonators) said this on vk...

Google translate doesn't get the full nuance... someone who knows Russian please translate...

I'm guessing a new dress is coming for the LP. I think it's pretty sad not to have this done by now.

That is great. I do not like her dress today. It's not for this program.

I am so sad for her, do you know if yulia will be present at the gala ?

I think it would be a huge mistake to skip both the medal ceremony and the gala. It's not like judges don't pay attention to this type of drama... plus there are a lot of fans that came to see her. It could work off some steam.

Anyway, there's this...

J. Lipnitskaia missed awards ceremony b/c she went back to hotel and did not know that awards came at the end.

Ok thank you I agree with you, we will see quickly ....

I had a chance to watch Julia's LP a few times now... my heart is broken and yet I'm glad this is happening now rather than a year before the olympic games.

people should give her some slack. I feel like people forget she is still a 16 year old girl inside. To deal with this amount of expectation and responsibility to provide for your family at this age is INSANE.
We love you, Julia.

I'm not so sure this meltdown is an anomaly or something which can be chalked up as an issue with the program. She has been "off" since the team event, where she suddenly became famous and her whole world changed. Not only did her entire country pin its hopes on her, but she also became her own breadwinner. So much pressure. She is an emotional girl, I wouldn't be surprised if she ended up withdrawing at some point for an indefinite period to reset to the old status-quo and let that fire rebuild on her own terms, which it surely would. She probably needs a long break, and this season isn't so important for her. Anyways its still too early to tell what is going on. Hopefully I'm not right and hopefully they don't push her into an even worse meltdown at nationals. */end pessimism/*

Sorry, when did she think the ceremony will take place?

Could be and I think that's normal. But honestly speaking, the first person who is more demanding and put pressure on her is herself.
She is very competitive and she did skate very well at worlds, only a mistake in the FS.
If she was so tired and lacking in motivation she wouldn't cry and consider a second place here as a disaster.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong. The psychological side of these things is hard to understand and interpret. :ohwell:
Anyway, I would wait for TEB - or even GPF (in case) and Euros - before forming an opinion about this.

She did not want to go.
I don't blame her nor people that want to defend her.

the thing is... she's acted like an adult for too long. I think she's allowed to cry and act childish sometimes and not going to the ceremony is part of it. I'm not trying to make excuses for her, but I feel like other people criticize her more than they should.

I don't remember any 15 year old "prodigy" from the past being so consistent and as mentally strong as Julia. Most of them retired at a young age, some just disappeared...

haha I feel like putting out a video out there of "LEAVE JULIA ALONEE!" ( )

I was not criticising her at all. I want to clarify this. It was a genuine question.

Maybe I just don't follow sports enough to understand why it's such a big deal... but medal ceremony doesn't bug me. She's a girl who's upset at herself about a disastrous program. I can see why she'd want to hide out/would completely forget the medal ceremony. Also, I suspect that at the moment she didn't realize how it would be seen--it's not like she skipped the medal ceremony for Worlds. Of course GP silver is a huge achievement for 99% of skaters out there, but considering the pressure Yulia's under, and all her achievements, she probably forgot that in the moment. Yulia's just so darn perfect most of the time that a genuine meltdown probably shocked her.

As a Liza fan, would I have wanted to see them on the podium together? Of course! But I'll take the positives out of this: Liza has her gold, and Yulia can learn from this experience. Hopefully they'll both grow stronger, and we'll see them on the podium together at many events in the future.

Alba- I wasn't talking about you.. just in general.. sorry if it came across like that. :)

No, don't worry. It din't came like that. :)
It was me. I wanted to clarify that. You never know in the internet. I'ts easy to get misunderstood.
