Yulia Lipnitskaya

Well just saying you guys should be glad it's Alba. Because if it were me I would hide the photo with Yulia away. :drama:

Just make sure you do not catch her at an inappropiate moment, e.g. when she is tense before a program or disappointed after a bad one.

Interview of Eteri Tutberidse about Julia.
Google translate is understandable.

I owe both Volk and Alba a big apology. Eteri states in this interview that Yulia had missed awards ceremonies twice before after disappointing performances. Given this history, you were both right: the coach and everyone close to Yulia shared responsibility with Yulia herself for missing the ceremony. My argument (that they aren't responsible) assumed that this caught everyone by surprise.
Eteri's last sentence about missing the award was, "I hope that in the future the situation does not happen again." This is puzzling and disappointing. Can't she do more than hope that it doesn't happen again? Geesh.

Well actually no... she missed one and almost missed one...

You're right, thanks sorenkay. They got lucky the time they almost missed. My original argument is still wrong since there were precedents of the same cause-and-effect. Those precedents should have put everyone on alert. Alba and Volk were unquestionably correct about who should take responsibility in this familiar scenario.

Well, it's easy to say that a precedent should prevent it from happening again but think about your own life. Have you ever had something almost happen and you rejoice that the worst did not happen and yet years later something very similar did happen. After all the intervening years would cause you to forget, especially since the almost did not actually happen.

I thought of this a few days later when something happened at work. You'd think that if someone orders and pays for something they wouldn't leave without right? They've paid for it, they want it , how could anyone forget? Especially when there were other people in the vehicle. Nevertheless they drove away and had to phone and come back for it over an hour later. And this was fast food. Eteri and Yulia did end up being reminded about but it was too late. Why is it so hard for others to understand, have you never forgotten anything? Never been late for something with no way to get there on time? Told someone you'd do something only to forget, or remember to late? If the answer to everyone of these questions is no for your entire lifetime then I guess someone else can criticize them but I can't imagine any human being never forgetting anything.

Thank you for posting her practice video!!
I don't think double axel-triple toe-double toe is a good combination for her... She was going so fast and smoothly until that combination. It looks very laboured.
She looks much more confident now though. Go Yulia!! :yay:

I'm still new to skating, but I'm pretty sure that's not the planned jump combination... she only did it because she messed up the previous jump that was a planned triple jump combination.

One little superficial thing I noticed is that the music cut sounds really good here...
