Yulia Lipnitskaya

It's so good to see her skate, no matter what. She's got that special je ne sais quoi.
Is her season over?

Very rarely am I going to post a clip of her falling but that's exactly what I'm going to do. Is it just me or did she sort raise her arms up in anger while she was still on the ground?

To me it looked like she got all pissed about it and then shot back up as quick as she could. Not that I ever want to see her fall but I like that she is showing some fight. She knows what she is capable off.

I already said this but that Loop is amazing! Her programs always have a moment when you can hear her blades at work and the music drops right as her blades take flight into a perfectly executed loop. It's awesome!!! I know exactly where blade sounds are in SL and Don't Give Up On Love.

In the interview she said that they had plans to change dress mid-season all the way back in Summer, when training with Zueva. She mentioned that back then she imagined that the season would go much better than it actually did. She had to change the dress after all, apparently because she lost weight and the blue dress got all baggy on her.
She... LOST weight? :shocked:I actually thought she looked healthier lately than earlier in the season, with more curves and muscles. Or maybe I imagined it.
But now I remember that she was sick not long ago. Maybe she lost weight at that moment.

Indeed, she looks like "FFFFF---!!!" for a split reason and then got right back up. I admit that made me laughed a bit to imagine that, but at least she got right back up. This season was meant to serve as a test to her, since she's re-working everything. I do hope she won't go to Worlds. She needs more time for training and she's not in a rush, after all.

She was also visibly disappointed in the interview, and a bit pissed. About the dresses, she mentioned that even the dress for the SP had to be redone a bit, because it got too wide.

PS: But, people, she did 7 jumps this LP :) Yay!

I cannot wait to see the improvement after summer. She has already improved quite a bit with Urmanov - I expect a comeback next season (although a comeback at Olympic season wouldn't be bad )

I was reading this thread and suddenly I got a random bout of extremely potent #SochiFeels and now I'm lamenting that I updated that app that had the live replays on it because they would still be available if I hadn't

Also, that clip of Yulia's angry fall made me laugh. Even though it was a fall. :slink:

This performance and the reaction with her arms after her fall is amazing !!. Just a few months ago, when she fell, it looked like an habit for her.... she looked so tired and we had the feeling that she just would like to go leave by giving up her performance. Today she shows that she never want to fall again at all. Like if, for her this period is over.
So incredible to see this huge improvement in just a couple of months, this season is unexpected but so benefic for her !! This is wonderful

Probably a little of the stomach bug she had but also she's been saying how she now loves the work in practice, that probably means she is doing more of it then before because she wants to be there.

As far as the new dress, she can always reuse it for her program next year since it was only used at 1 small national event. I think this would maybe be the season to reuse her FS, she only skated it twice internationally and never to its potential. Plus it would give her more time to focus on her technique and getting comfortable in her head again.

Though, of course, there is still a lot of work to be done - but the improvement is obvious, and I like that general positive feeling from Yulia's skating that is felt now... She looks more confident, and relaxed, and determined. The performance is beautiful, and I also like this dress much better than the previous blue one.

Im quite surprised with Yulia's new dress..I mean, there's no point in changing it since its the last of the season already..hmmnn UNLESS she's going to Worlds..Im still hopeful though(fingers crossed)..

She said, and Urmanov said as well that she's definitely going to at least one B-series competition in March (in Austria).

Edit: it's Cup of Tyrol - http://www.cupoftyrol.at/

I've been looking through the protocols from both the sp and fp. And I noticed that her last spin was scored as an CCoSP3p3 instead of an CCoSP3p4 as it normally is. Does anybody have any idea of why? :scratch3:
