Actually I don't feel scared too much if Yulia changed coach since Eteri group is over-crowded with all the talents and she needs more attention from her coach. Unless they push her towards Morozov or the like, I have no objection.

But she trusts Eteri, so I trust her choice.

p.s. Speaking of the media and being honest. I looooove Yulia's interview, and Eteri's as well, but they often are too open. I would suggest both of them to keep some things for themselves.

Kinori, it is pretty clear from Yulia's statement what has happened. She and Eteri had exchange(s) during practice. Anyone in the rink, her fellow skaters and rink personnel, witnessed the tension. That started the gossip, gossip that led to the fed meeting. Both Yulia and Eteri made clear to the fed that their relationship was solid, that they wanted to continue despite season difficulties. It's a love nest again.

Ilya has several times twisted the facts. Remember, when he said in an interview that in Canada people for the first time gave Yulia standing ovation? I am bot very fond of him after he bad mouthed about Plushy. I thought maybe they just didn't get along but this just add more to the dislikeness towards him.
I hope Yulia will have a new choreographer.

I read Ilya's interview (in Russian). For me it is negative and condescending. He says: "Yulia is a great skater...but... bla-bla-bla". His exact controversial quote is: "When the season goes badly, the skaters most of all blame the coach. Moreover, Yulia and Eteri had already a similar case. And also after an unsuccesful season, the last but one. I remember how Eteri called me and said literally the following: We have very difficult relationships, Yulia is about to leave, support me, please, with good programs". Indeed Team Ilya. This is all especulation, but I have the impression he is an oportunist - nothing wrong with that, but one must know when to step back. He jumped at the oportunity to choreo Yulia's programs last year and, when he succeded, jumped at the opportunity to have her in his ice shows. With money coming to his pocket from said ice shows, Yulia's new program's "could wait". Once he realised that this season wasn't going to be the best, "hey, don't put too much expectation on Yulia". Now that it was done, "well, I saw that coming. Yulia is this and that."

Averbuch is definitely an opportunist, one of those guys that is always ready & willing to talk to the media about anybody. He was in the press talking about Brian Joubert and Katarina Gerboldt not long ago too (and as far as I know, he has no present "connection" to them as he does to Julia). He said they would never compete, they were just together for publicity, etc. Maybe he's right and sure, he's entitled to give his opinion, but why is this guy constantly in the press talking about everyone? You recognize the pattern after awhile. I have never liked him as a person and I would never put much stock in his opinions.

They do have Radionova (and Adelina, but who knows?) but coming up next season are Serafima and Evgenia, girls that impress me a lot. Actually, I will be surprised if none break the 200+ mark in Junior Worlds. And of course, our dear Yulia. I will be even more surprised if she doesn't show everything she has this year.
