Yulia Lipnitskaya

this "new team" around her
Well, then... they probably just want to guard her from publicity, not making the same mistakes again that nearly crushed her between and after Olympics.
Just reconsider Yulia's words: Every movement I do, every word I say gets overanalyzed and (often) put out of context.
She should have gotten a professional manager long time ago.

I agree. Friendships are rarely totally equally balanced. In skiing I lively remember the two top ladies (Maria Riesch and Lindsay Vonn) beeing BFF openly, even celebrating Christmas together and stuff. Well, until at one point Riesch started beating Vonn in important competions. Things started to get a little ugly then.
Riesch had no problem beeing nr. 2 in competions behind her best friend, but obviously Vonn couldn't handle that. And I don't blame her, she's very competitive, strong willed and focused. Riesch was devasted though.

It's a pity, but it's only human tbh. It happens between sisters, let alone friends.

It's not Yulia having problems with her words being published but this "new team" around her the journalist is very clear about that.

Frankly, I'm happy about it. She is too honest, too straightforward and her words have been twisted in the past a lot. So, good job guys.

Ya, not only Yulia's words but Eteri's interviews too. It's a high time for them to realize that they've become too big "stars" (I know they both dislike this part) to handle this part of their job unprofessionally.

Yep. I forgot about Eteri. She has a big mouth indeed. I'm kidding, but like you said. She's a bit like Yulia too and sometimes doesn't think too much.

They will learn in time. Changing the PR team is a good sign.

Spontaneous sincerity is a hallmark of creative people, it's part of their their stock-in-trade. They live in their own worlds. If they are also thin-skinned, they can create tremendous stress with just an unguarded remark or two. Yulia and Eteri may never be good at handling superficial exchange. This is another indication that the fed-backed plan is in place, that some serious thought has gone into Yulia's future. The next months will be really interesting.

Don't even know how all this might be. So why will not interview! Julia just didn't want to treat the journalist coffee!
Correspondence in the comments from Facebook page of Eugeni Slusarenko (now removed)

Eugene Slyusarenko There other, Alex. I asked her to be paid for coffee, but Julia refused. I decided that I will not to work in such conditions. So when Ilya Kazakov invited to interview with Capello, there was coffee included.

Alexei Shevchenko If she is not willing to be paid for coffee, so she had to warn you. You would have to call another hero. I'm on your side completely.

Eugene Slyusarenko Well I'm a little disingenuous, Alex. I also asked to be paid for a dinner. But, I think, it is also a reasonable request.

Alexei Shevchenko Completely. You haven't a dinner yet.

Probably, the correspondent was hungry and wanted to have dinner at the expense of Lipnitskaya. But Yulia showed temper and didn't want to treat him. Perhaps, then he took offense and refused to publish interview

I think they are hyenas. Probably most of the journalists over there are hyenas.

Yeah but what are they talking about? I don't get it.

I was asked to pay for coffee, but Julia refused.

So, he was asked to pay for the coffee but Yulia refused and paid for him?

But, then, the other says
If she is not willing to pay for coffee

The other, then, replies:
I even asked to pay for lunch

I don't get it. Is he upset because he wanted to pay for the lunch and the coffee?

Ah, so it's the opposite. He wanted a lunch gratis. Oh god, I'm surprised how these people don't feel embarrassed even talking about it, let alone to make it an issue. :hopelessness:

Interesting the different cultures. In the USA journalist try to push the idea of never getting compensation of any sort for interviews. I had a teacher who had the chance to interview a sitting president who was running for reelection. The conditions of the interview were fly out to California, get on Air Force One, take turns talking to president in 15 minute increments with other journalists then disembark at the next stop. Said teacher said his newspaper did not feel right accepting the flight as a gift and calculated the cost and sent a check Or so he claimed to be under that impression. I belive that he would want things in the clear, i would not be surprised if his higher ups blew his reimbursement idea off. Even though the nature of the travel was clearly at the president's convenience, they were not willing to appear to have accepted a flight as a gift from a political figure. My guess is his head would explode reading this.

I hope Yulia is taking notes. Something tells me she has the makings of a great best seller tell all in a few years.
