Yulia Lipnitskaya

I mean at the end of the day, only Julia knows what it is really like to work with Etri on a daily basis, and only Julia is really in a position to know or make a truly educated guess about whether or not her current struggles have anything to do with Etri or not. I have confidence Julia is not stupid and will make the right decision for herself about her coaching situation.

Actually no, she said she couldn't handle to listen the music for more than a week. Obviously, she didn't said bad word about the program itself.
Yes, but I'm pretty sure she also said she liked the music in the beginning or sth in this kind. I'm looking hard, but can't find that interview, help! :bang:

I doubt that she said that but it is somewhere back in this topic. Good luck. :p
I'm not gonna bother with that. She took a decision. If Ilia doesn't like it whatever. It's his problem.

Anyway, a user on FSU speaking about her jumps said: According to ME, she does very well in practice! I've seen her train a few times and it's no problem at all.

Yulia's slump is entering chronic phase. Chances of snapping out of it are slim. She needs to figure out something fast.

Tara also said that in practice Eteri favors Egvenia. I don't know if Tara is making things up, but if true this is a case of a coach puting top skaters against each other. Mishin did it to Plushy and Yagudin.

I hope Yulia can find support from her federation and a coaching team, she needs time and I hope she gets it.

In many ways Yulia finds her self in a similar situation to Mao when Mao was 19. Yulia is younger and has time to work out her issues before next Olympics.
Mao was able to work on her issues because, she had a supportive coach who gave her all the attention she needed it. Her federation was supportive at least in public.

What ever happens Yulia has accomplished more than many skaters who competed longer. World medal, Olympic medal.

Mao's coach/country however didn't have a ton of other talent waiting in the wings - I think that's where some of the Russian girls are going to get hurt, are coaches really going to take the time to deal with their issues or will the coach take the fan approach of there are dozens (seemingly every year) of girls, some won't survive puberty, let's move onto the next 'big thing'....

I don't know how much of a feasible situation it would be, but Yulia seemed to talk favorably about her time training in the US, perhaps that would do her some good getting out of a practice environment where you are literally always surrounded by your competitors. Or perhaps she and her coach (whoever that is going forward) takes the Mishin approach that they had with Liza, her issue is confidence in competitions - maybe the best case scenario is to put her into a lot of competitions and confront that.

Tara's gossip-mongering smacks of tabloid garbage designed to generate conflict (so beloved of media), get people riled up and talking about it, clicking and searching, etc etc... which ultimate makes them money. Seems it's working as intended, true or not.

But all I will say about it is: "Show proof, or it didn't happen"

:-P

As for the doom-sayers here and their recent posts... wow. So quick to write her off, change this, change that. Are you really fans? Julia has VERY CLEARLY changed and grown physically in less than a year. Seems pretty obvious she's going to need time to adjust to that. Let's wait a season or two before deciding that drastic changes are needed?

There is no proof that Eteri made those comments, but you are already portraying it as a fact? Just because Tara said so? :sarcasm:

I still consider the propability of the comments being real as rather low. What motivation could Eteri have to make the inner problems in her group public? She would only hurt herself and make her own work more difficult. Tara however has little to worry about. As a commentator she is in the talking branch of the entertainment business and gossip is part of her job. It does not need to be true as long as it is entertaining. The yellow press makes billions of dollars each year with stuff like that. Tara will hardly be sued because of a report about an alleged catfight in group Tutberidze.

I find it interesting that you have an issue with me accepting the statements as true, but you think it's ok to basically call Tara a liar.

I might be willing to believe that Tara may have embellished a little, but sorry, I do believe that Eteri shared that there was no love lost between the two skaters. Like I said, I don't see the big deal with them not liking each other because we like who we like. Not all personalities mesh. Yulia and Evgenia follow everyone else on Instagram, but not each other. Yulia displays photos of herself with the likes of Lena and Liza, but not really with Evgenia. I know these are small things but a little telling since they are in the same group.

Like I said before, I see no reason for Tara to make this up. I don't even consider this good gossip, so if this is the best story she can make up she should call me for help. Or maybe it is good since we are spending time talking about it. None of us know what is going and just have our opinions.

I'd be thrilled if she stayed with Eteri TBH. If Julia trusts in her than so do I without doubt. Julia is not the type of person to hold her feelings in from what I gather so she knows what to do and will do it.

FWIW: coaching changes in most Sports can be a very beneficial thing at times but let's face it. This isn't an ordinary sport and she isn't in an ordinary situation. I think people just want what's best for her above everything else. I also think it's worth noting how she always seems to praise the conditions at Arctic edge and would probably do well to spend more time in Michigan even if we're only talking a month or two but obviously this is no small task and many complications could arise but then again...Julia has already once packed up everything and uprooted herself once before in the name of figure skating and it paid off with great success.

No matter what happens I will support her to the fullest. Rare talent ..this one

Agree, and I seem to remember that Diana, Eteri's daughter, had made some not so nice comments about Yulia in the off-season. However, at least when Yulia first moved to Moscow - she and her mother both said it was either she skated with Eteri or they would quit, so the big question would be, has THAT changed?

Woah woah woah! What?! What did Diana say??

Eeeeesh all this over something that came out of Tara's mouth......hahaha.....Whether or not Eteri said those things (I still have trouble wrapping my head around it), or if Tara is blowing things epically out of proportions, or if it's just pure gossip to build up some skating-rivalry storyline about two teenage girls.....I don't care.

Actually, a while back I was browsing through some of early photos on both Yulia and Evgenia's vk pages, and noticed that they did comment on each others pics....or at least in the past
Yulia's photos of Che - 1 & 2
Evgenia and Yulia's magic tail-whip
I'm sure there are more of these, as well as quite a few pics of them together smiling, right now I can't be bothered to go through them all. But again, both these girls get along very well with seemingly everyone else in their group AND pretty much most other members on the Russian nation team. Both are extremely talent, and have strong individual personalities (at least that's what I am getting from their interviews), neither have talked smack about one another in the press, and again...according to seemingly ever other skater in Eteri's group who are on Ask.fm, they do communicate with one another. So...make of it what you will.....

On a side note: Yulia's exhibition!!

I don't think they were "not so nice," exactly, but I'd consider them slightly tactless, I guess. She basically said that Julia wasn't ready for competition or something; I think this was a while before the test skates, too. I don't really think it matters anymore; she shouldn't have shared it online but it hardly made a difference.

On the topic of Julia and Evgenia, I'd agree that it doesn't matter at all whether they get along or not, as long as they don't hurt each other or something lol. I don't know what happened between Eteri and Tara, but I'd say, assuming this is all true, that it was not great of Eteri to share something like this with outsiders, and that it was also rather bad of Tara to share it as well, considering it really has nothing to do with anyone's skating.

I like the ex, though maybe next time she can put a little more force into it.

I think right now, Yulia needs time and perhaps a jump specialist. I don't think her technique needs to be torn down completely or something like that, but a good jump specialist could really make a difference.

It seems that Tutberidze put Julia up to this. As Averbukh before. Tutberidze doesn't know how to lift Julia up to the level that was Yulia before.
I think the same. And I don't understand the reason of hate to Averbukh on this forum. I remember the end of the document about Julia's way to Sochi. He told how the work with Julia was difficult and that he admires Eteri that she found the way to her. How Julia insisted on Shindlers list and how nobody wanted to deals with it. He did. He was sucessfull. He wanted to continue with her. It was Julia or her mothe, who refused. OK, it was their right. But I understand why he feels satisfaction now.
Do you feel that he speaks too openly? I don't, he never told lies.
