Yulia Lipnitskaya

A commentary-free version of her TEB short program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DmF7dQoRBM

Most interesting part of it is how clear the audio sound bites are after the performance. You can hear everything quite clearly, including a few Yulia-english moments.

(Before getting Rainbow Dash)
Yulia: Thank you.

(Carrying giant panda. Approaches more fans with bouquet, gifts and postcard. Turns to lady behind her.)
Yulia: Can you please help me?

....And now we know Yulia's vocabulary is not limited to 'NO', "Moscow' and 'Japan'. :yes2:

She also got a few merci's in there so at least one word of French!

I double dare her to say "не хлыздить" in English.:p
How would one translate "hlyzdit" to english? Buffonery? Procrastination?

Julia Lipnitskaia - Boyfriend (bonus deathglare at the end) :laugh2:

What is she saying? "Boris, back off!"?

Moris, I'm assuming?...he was the one Periscope-ing live from COR. I don't think anyone recorded it, but I do recall an amusing moment when Moris and Adyan and was trying to get her attention (as per viewers' requests) but she was busy talking to someone.

Moris: "Yu..Yu..Yu"
*Adyan pokes her in the stomach*
*no response*
*Adyan shrugs*
Moris: "YU!!!"

Poor Moris, gets blamed for everything. :rofl2:

Exactly - how? :taunt:
Even many Russians didn't know the word back in 2014.

You gotta be from Yekaterinburg's hood, to understand it. :handw:

Gotta say....I actually bothered to put the article through Google Translate out of boredom....and....
What total load of bollocks.....lol @ "quoted by one of the fans" :disapp: LMAO at the lack of effort, even for a tabloid. If they wanna make up (or sell) gossip, at least make it appear remotely believable, this is just lazy. People...where's the effort?! :disagree:

What a shame, and the author, let me guess, call him/her-self "journalist"
The problem is that the article is going to be read and to be sold to the readers, because the headline starts with the name-Lipnitskaya.

Yulia's SP at TEB is listed in Morozombie 10 best performances at GPs: http://morozombie.blogspot.com/2015/11/stuff-i-like-grand-prix-2015-part-i.html

9) Julia Lipnitskaya, Trophée Éric Bompard SP (Can't Help Falling in Love, (You're the) Devil in Disguise)
Confession time: I've been a closeted fan of Julia Lipnitskaya since watching her Schindler's List at Skate Canada in 2013 after criticizing her skating for years. Well, since the cat's out of the bag now, I'll state for the record that her Megapolis SP last season was ace as well. And now, this Elvis Presley SP. It's a very ~different~ program not just because Ms. Lipnitskaya is looking like she's aged a decade since Sochi, but it's also the fact that the SP is a vast departure from the mournful waif programs that have seemingly made Ms. Lipnitskaya skating's closest equivalent to a Margaret Keane painting. But in truth, I suspect the reason why I find this SP so fascinating is because its theme and concept is such an ironic contrast to the struggle and determination etched on every fibre of Ms. Lipnitskaya's being every time she sets up for a jump.

This dni.ru has published some craziest and stupidest stuff about a number of other skaters as well before. :rolleye: It's enough to look at the link to know what all this would be about. It's a tabloid.

Absolutely right. I also got to know this word for the first time only from Yulia's interview. :)

I think I hear he asked her: "Few words about practice?", she says sth I don't understand, in the end she says "... because for maximum... is not enough".

I can understand most of spoken Russian on their TV, but random people talking is tough. :ohwell:

Julia said - I was dead.
in Russian slang.
meaning dies from exhaustion. ))))

What's the deal with these weird videos posted on Instagram?

https://instagram.com/p/-tD6CyvQ9d/

Skater: "A couple of words about training?"
Julia: "I'm dead" [here "dead" meaning "exhausted", and referring to herself in masculine terms]
Guys: "La..." [laughing, because sdoh-la turns it back from masculine to feminine]
Julia: "But the whole point is that I'm dead. For [unintelligible] the strength is not enough.
