Well, Sam said that she was maybe planning to do a combo on the flip, and if she was doing only a 2S, which I doubt, there would be at least one combo in the first half, but she still would have the 3T for the second half - and if she was doing two 2A+3T, then she still needed to tack a 2T at the end of her lutz, and that would be fours combos total in the program.
I don't think she is actually planing on two 2A+3T, probably just one and then one 2T at the end of the lutz, and maybe the combo of 3F+1L+3S at the first half - that wouldn't make her zayak any jumping pass. That's three combos. But at least she has a bit of an edge on Medvedva because Yulia is trying two 3Z, and two 3S when Medvedeva does two 3F and two 3T, though she have 5 jumping passes on the second half, while Yulia only has three. It's a small edge, but it certainly makes them even in the BV area.
I remember her doing a double loop in TEB last year. After that in the russian skates I don't remember if she actually went for a loop. It was indeed a surprise to see it so well done at RN.
EDIT: she did a 3L at GPF last year too. But nothing like this one.
Then again Yulia herself may have pretty high standards

:luv17:I know shed want to get to that point I meant right now since it's hard for her in the second half. Just to get on the team it would have been smarter to tack the combinations onto the first 2 jumps since they were the most stable. Planning the 2T after the second 3Lz was a bad idea because even if she didn't pop it the landing might have been unstable. The 2 3T were supposed to be after the 2A in the second half. That was a bad plan from the get go when she working back up to her old content. The same way doing 2 3F up to this point were bad ideas.
Well, I took out one of the 3T only when Sam mentioned the 3F+1L+3S, because then she would have already two triples being repeated, salchow and lutz. And she had to tack that 2T after the second lutz otherwise it would lose BV because of being a repetition. However, I don't know how her training is going on, so as I said before, we are going to know the full layout when she actually land all the jumps.
Anyway, if she landed the layout I proposed perhaps she could have scored higher than Pogorilaya, especialy because it seemed to me that the judges would give it to her. But just putting the two 3T in any of the other jumps wouldn't put her past the fifth place. Not much better than she already is at right now. But there's the Russian Cup in february, her chance to make the Worlds team. It's a good lenght of time to see how much she can improve.
Seems like Yulia is active again on ask.fm!
According to me the planned layout was:
3L-3T (it is reported that Yulia went for this combo in FS practice session)
3Lz
3S
3F ( when Lip was a junior her flip was superb, at these days it is shaky so it is hard to believe it can be in combination :/)
------------------------------------------
2a-1loop-2S (at SA this year she actually did this combo)
3Lz (looks risky man!!!)
2a-3T (she did 2a-2t at RN)
5 triples jumps should be in the first half: that may be a smart plan seeing that Yulia (probably having stamina issues) has been struggling in the second half for two years.
Moreover planning two 2a combos may be a wise choice too: even if her 2a is not that big it is stabile and secure indeed. Using it so like a solo jump would be such a waste![]()

Now, this would be interesting:
Q: Yulia, have you ever wanted to do a program with Japanese style? Every time I hear "Seimei" music from Yuzuru's program, I see you. How come?
A: I've been begging to do a Geisha program for two years.. They said it's not my thing )

WHAT?!
Who were those idiots who told her so?![]()
