Yulia Lipnitskaya

@darazam :rofl::rofl::laugh:
If only she knew :D Although I'm not involved in any shipping of them, I'm always impressed by the amount of people who actually ship them :) !

Thank you so much for both of the interviews!
Why can't Yulia just be a native English speaker :D >_<
I'm actually seriously considering to learn a few words of Russian by now, since I'm slowly going crazy about the fact that I always have to use Google translate and if the interview is oral and there are no subs I'm helpless :ohwell:

My fave part is:
Q: What do you know about Japan? Maybe you have favorite writer, movie or anime.
A: No, I don't really love anime, but I like when people draw me in anime style, it's cool. For some purpose they often make pictures of me with Yuzuru.
Omg, I am praying for the High Lord that BOTH of them will never know. :bang: please hope that Yuzuru and Yulia are too occupied by skating to know anything about those kind of shipping. :slink: oh the internet!!

Does anybody know where I can find the link to the video, where they had all the figure skating medalists in some kind of TV show? There were Ilinykh/Katsalapov, Volozoshar/Trankov and Adelina Sotnikova and some others... they invited some parents and showed some childhood videos and so on...

Anyway, Yulia wasn't there, since she didn't medal in the individual and while they were celebrating Adelina's win, they brought out some little girl and, I don't speak a word of Russian(a fact that I HATE by now :( ), but I think they asked her who she wants to be like when she grows up, and immediately she said:
"Yulia Lipnitskaya!"
Eventhough Yulia wasn't even invited or mentioned to her and she, of course, was supposed to say Adelina :D
Of course a bit of an awkward situation, but so cool for Yulia fan!
Does anybody know which video I'm talking about?
And well said to the posts above me

I think she was supposed to say "figure skater" :)
At first I was disappointed at not inviting her but that night she was a guest at Ivan Urgant's show.

I still couldn't believe she is just 16 years old. With that calming attitude and expression. Oh dear...

 I watched the whole thing too. It flies by so fast!!

Alba, Sam, you're not alone in that. That always happens to me too. There was a time this past season and the season before during the GP where I allowed critical comments to affect my opinion of her skating but as soon as I decided to ignore the comments and watched a program I was drawn in and it flew by. They're so ignorant to complain about "musicality" and flexibility when Yulia's skating weaves a spell over the audience.

I still sometimes get irritated, when the comments are just mean and on purpose to bash her, but about her musicality and flexibility, axel tech bla bla bla? I just don't care, and the funny thing is that the reason for that is Yulia herself.
I just imagine how would she react if she hears those "critics"? I think she wouldn't give a damn.
She's one of the most realistic and objective skaters I've seen, read or hear, about her own skating.

Yulia is everything except stupid. I am very sure she knows it.

I re-watched Julia's program for that flying spin. It is high enough for me, but it is so quickly done, you have to be quite focused to see it. If she only gets a level 2, that's quite harsh. ALL her spins are amazing! I even prefer Julia's I spin to Sasha Cohen. I love both skaters nevertheless.

She does get level 4 on it, just like her other spins but she only gets +2 in GOE. The difference would only be 0.50 points so it doesn't really matter. I was just curious.

Anyways, I have heard of Yulia practicing quad for a while, and there's rumor that she landed it in practice. She rotates very fast so I hope she can make it. I wonder if Russian posters can help us with the information about the quad? :)

Oh, thanks! It makes sense. Her spins are so good and difficult...GOE is all about who's the favourite (political or greatness in judges eyes)
