【music time】SOI Tokyo 2014 group performance with “became a family”

Sunday afternoon, Tokyo TV broadcast one hour trailer of the program scheduled on air next Wed(4/16). Hope to find program videos afterward.

There are two highlights as following:

(1) Group performance with the song of “became a family” by Fukuyama Masaharu. He is one of my favorite Japanese male singers!

(2) The interview of Yuzu by Nobunari Oda. It seems quite funny interactions between them. For example, Nobunari asks Yuzu how he feels while jumping 4lo? “Oh, a speedy jump only!”

!!! Oda and Hanyu are beyond adorable I swear. Oda esp seems to have a heart of a kid :3

Today's show: hana ni nara. Tried twice on 4Lo but both failed. And fell on 3A.
p.s. I just wonder if I worry too much about his body condition, or this kid is just crazy and doesn't know the meaning of 'abstinence'. I hope it's the former one.

The last words of Yuzuru were, "Just jump 'Shu!!'. That's all!"

"Shu!" is an imitative word (onomatopoeia) for a swift move in Japanese.

I remembered an interview of Kanako Murakami (the interviewer was Yukari Nakano).
Kanako is not good at Loop jumps, so asked Yuzuru about the tip, and Yuzuru's advice was,
"Just jump Shu!!"
Kanako was laughing, "It only confused me!"

She also asked the same to Miyabi Oba, a junior skater, who is good at Loop jumps. Her advice was;
"You can make it by reading the air!"

Kanako says, "Everybody gives confusing advices when it comes to Loop jumps. I don't know why."

I this gif and any others where he's just sort of grooving to the music, like those clips from "The Ice" show. He just couldn't be any cuter!

A friend of mine who works as a graphic design artist already begin to do this, just for fun. Even she is not a big figure skating fan, but the artist side of her loves Hanyu and his style, and also when I show her some of the things he says sometimes, she says they should be saved. So she create a little quote book also with pictures. It is just for her, I don't think she thought to sell it (would she even be allowed to, I don't know copyright rules) but maybe next time I see her if she let me I will take pictures and post them for fun

Thanks to your friend Nomi ! a small step for Hanyu but a great leap for the community !

“When I take the whole season into consideration, I noticed that there I still have a lot of things to work on. Looking forward to the next Olympics I have a lot of time to work on those things. I want to do my best and work hard on that.

I’m not really the best the person to pull the sport along. What we need is all of the Japanese male skaters together pulling the sport forward. I think that is the most effective way to go about it, not to have one person as the “Ace” but to have all of the Japanese men capable of winning.

Thx Channah ! Really if Hanyu wasn't good for interview, i'm sure that media leave him to make his life and career in calm. But he is so mature, adorable, understandable etc .... that no one can ignore him.

Ah.. So, if Patrick Chan will still compete this coming season, then he and Yuzuru can compete against each other in any competition because Patrick did not compete in Worlds 2014?

yup, exactly right! and I was right on the whole home pick thing - JSF can do what they want with their home picks at NHK and disregard the 123 and 456 rule (but putting Tatsuki and Yuzu together would be kind of dumb because it lowers their individual chances for GP final but yeah). But the whole GP pick thing is super complicated with all the different skating federations and skaters involved in doing the picking, and then after that there's a whole list of ways you can get a GP spot - like Worlds place, season's best scores, etc etc basically it's really complicated. There was a thread in the arena a while ago about GP predictions where I learned all of this stuff, if you could find it you can read more extensively about it~

I love this one...he seems like such a free spirit. I hope he never loses that quality. I'm worried he will get burned out, especially this year with all the demands on his time and energy. Will he have any kind of a break before he starts preparing next season's programs?
