About Takumi Suenaga. He brought me to this post http://originallove.livejournal.com/20187.html
The content of post is included in chapter 3 of Yuzu's autobiography.
Is it true that when their parents were feeling the financial burden of supporting the competitive skating of the two children, it was Saya who chose to give up her dream so that Yuzuru can in turn pursue his?
When Ice Rink Sendai was closed in 2005 due to financial problem, Yuzu’s parents had ever discussed with two children to suspend their skating, because they hardly afforded the expenses for longer distance practices. At same year, Yuzu was 10 years old (4th grade) and just won his first national title.
Saya, his sister, was 8th grade. She asked parents to keep younger brother continue skating while she would suspend herself. At last, Saya skated until her graduation of high school.
Next year, Arakawa won the Olympics gold medal and the home rink opened again not long after.
Saya has graduated from university and works for Ice Rink Sendai now. Yuzu’s former coach, Tsuzuki Shoichiro, ever said that Saya as a competing skater gave Yuzu very valuable technical support in his youth competitions. And when Yuzu and their mother moved to Toroto, she took care the most of house affairs.
I agree a news heading said: "Yuzu’s victory ties with family and also is a fight for whole family."
