Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Someone in the facebook group has pointed out, after the 2nd warm up at CoC, Yuzuru pointed towards Nam, seems like he was telling Borser to go and take care of Nam because Nam skated first after the 2nd warm up.

Here's the fan cam, please fast forward to the last 30 seconds, you can see Yuzuru pointing towards Nam when he walked out of the rink. But for sure Orser's top priority at that time was Yuzuru, who could have leave him alone in such state.

Yuzuru is such a good kid. I like him even more.

*oda talked about yuzuru's entrance to his 3As and the first time yuzuru landed his 4T (the very first time he tried it when he was 15)
Thank you for the link. So Oda said he had seen Yuzuru landed the 4T the first time or that Yuzuru landed 4T in just a day of practice? My friend version (translation) is quite different. I don't understand that he tried the 4T the first time and succeeded or he practiced it in one day then succeeded?

I believe if he's capable of competing next week, he will skate his heart out to get to the GPF. There's still 3 spots left for the mens single for the GPF! He can do it!

For the sake of his health I hope he will stay out. Nothing should be equal to your health.

I mean IF he's health-wise capable and mentally capable. Plus physical.

my japanese is a bit iffy so i guess your friend's translation is more correct, im sorry :o: but i do recall watching a documentary(?) of his where it was mentioned that he did land it the first time he tried to do a 4t.

So... First time trying a 4T and landed it successfully at the age of 15 (with good quality as well). The kid is a monster. I refuse to believe this. For sure he had to practice or else how can you land a quad at first try???

I dunno but i guess he is
Here is a sample https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8EYy2MaWIs&feature=youtube_gdata_player
and someone mentioned here before that he landed a 4sal even before he came to orser but with so many pages here its difficult to find.

I watched this yesterday and giggle  It wasn't first attempt but in that one day he successfully landed it. and Oda was watching him landed it and praised him but then Yuzuru said "I just tried to jump the quad today". Oda was shocked cause it took him 2-3 years to finally able to jump the quad!

So TEB results come out. It seems that a podium finish at NHK would be sufficient for Yuzu to qualify for the final.
I'm pretty sure I'm still not getting this right but I tried
Assuming that Mura and Voronov qualify ahead of him anyway, there's only Abbott left.
If Abbott gets 1st place then he has a total of 22 points, meaning that Yuzuru has to be at least in 3rd place to get ahead of him with 24 points (because a tie won't do it if Abbott gets a 1st place and Yuzuru's best placement is the 2nd place at CoC)
If Abbott gets 2nd or lower he has a maximum of 20 points, which means a 4th place would be enough for Yuzuru to be ahead of him with 22 points.
If Abbott gets 2nd place and Yuzuru gets in 5th then they tie with 20 points and it would come down to the scores (because I guess then the best placement thingy won't apply because both had a 2nd place as their best result)

.............. I guess? I have no idea what I'm doing. Numbers are not my friends and this is pretty much me talking out of my backside. Someone who knows better should take over now.

ETA
and if they tie with 20 points I guess Jason would also be in the mix because he also has 20 points with a 2nd and 5th place and then it comes down to who of the three has the highest scores. Again, this is just me guessing

^ For me, it took me a while to even partly understand the judging system and the numbering/scoring! Differentiating the PCs and TES was the most difficult ... to date, I still get confused about everything.

Anyway, all the best for Yuzu at the NHK! (since he seems really determined to compete)

That's right :)

Random thoughts

I wish Yuzu would wear his practice pants for competition. That pants really show off his looooong shapely legs  :points:

Non-stop raining pooh and friends

I read about how the collision affecting Han Yan, I hope Yuzu does not suffer the same. From looking at how Yuzu came back to the rink for 2nd warm-up and continued with jumping etc. with all the skaters there around him, and the fact that he still made the jumps in the actual program looked like the incident did not affect his mental condition....the force is strong in this one!!!
