Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Haha I love how embarrassed he looked!

I looked at the short version and I have the impression he is saying something about girls usually giving chocolates to boys at his skating club? (or I just thought I caught up words and made my own salad with it -_-")

In Japan, it is customary for girls to give chocolate to the boys, whereas in the US, boys give chocolates/flowers/teddy bears to the girls.

also it doesn't have to have romantic implications... often girls give chocolate to male friends or family... Boys then have to reciprocate the gifts received on white day that's somewhere around march IIRC

There are two types: friendship chocolate and love chocolate. For the first type, boys are obliged to reciprocate the gifts received.

Ah, yes. Mostly in America it is love based, but the gifts are usually interchangeable between friends and or lovers. I did not mean to imply that Japanese is only female-->male.

Whew, I went to sleep and woke up to a full blown conspiracy theory, and now to the more pleasant discussion of Tomochoco. Let's not make mountains out of mole-hills. All our agonizing will not change what Hanyu and his team ultimately do. I'd rather talk about his red sweater.
I think someone should tell him turtlenecks are for people who are trying to look thin, not for those already thin. It makes him look too wispy.

I totally agree with you!! He looks too skinny with his red turtleneck, I think I also saw him with black turtleneck before. He's skinny enough already so maybe he really shouldn't wear turtlenecks to make his fans heart ache....😁

This is the black turtleneck(?) I talked abt ,I guess it's not a pure turtleneck since there's a shirt outside...

But as long as he's healthy, happy and lively, i wont mind what he wears and where he goes!!😍

Painfully thin is what comes to my mind...

How can we always turn a simple subject into a negative thing?

Updating kit for suvirving this forum:
1000 chill pills
10000 chaomile tea bags
10000 tilo tea bags
Alcohol (tequila, vodka, beer, guaro whatever it works for you)
Patient
Positive thinking

But very few people can look good in skin-tight training gear so I guess he knows that and is so kind to delight his fans often. Maybe that's why he is never in a sweater!! He has more fashion sense than we thought!!

As he is recovering, I have no any doubts why he is still sitting in Sendai. This season was very hard to him and he lacked of training, he needs to work his 4s, spins, steps and choreo. Yes, Yuzuru loves his country and town but he is very disciplined person, so he understands that in Toronto he is in best hands and if he wants second Olympic gold Toronto is the best option. Getting to Brian was Yuzuru's wish because he saw that javi improved a lot in his technique.Brian mentioned in his book that Yuzuru called him and said: "I want to train with coach Brian" and after Brian'd flown in Japan. If you look at these persons you will see that they have excellent mutual trust and it is not easy to get Hanyu's trust. I believe that JSF understand that it will be nonsense to make him leave BO.Also Knowing Yuzuru from Junior I'm sure that will not leave BO until he reaches his goals. I think it's too early to raise a panic there is still 1.5 month left till WC, let's wait what will happen.

Yes, let’s wait & see…as much as I wish his health intensely like always, I don’t think the injury is that serious and whether it’s serious at this point, there is still the time that he is recovering/training and he will definitely go to the worlds as long as he can skate/stand on ice
Although I won’t mind even if he will not be able to get medals or miss the worlds as for the worst. as I still think he needs to take a long rest and has already proven to us what he deserve the titles through this season. yes I may be a bad fan.

I guess that sweater was given to him by Ghana to fit the Valentine theme? I have the feeling he didn't choose it by himself. Some people think looks thin and tired in the video (I have read those comments outside of this forum as well), as for me I think he lost training muscles. So all the need is to rebuilt them again. Maybe that's why Brian needs him to fly to Canada asap. He doesn't need to train just on ice, but off ice as well. But still the schedule is kinda tight IMO. Note that I am not saying he couldn't make it. Just say it will be tough.
