Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Oh that was funny. I feel like Takahiko there, bemused and amused. Thanks.

Todays FaOI: 4T opening ; SEMEI 4S, 1T or 2T (conflicting reports), 3F, 4T2T tano, 3A (held on?)

Thanks for sharing the report/s. So if he did 4T2T tano, that would be a change for him because he usually does it with both arms aloft or overhead (2t rippon) as tano I understand only has one arm aloft unless the report/s were mistaken?

Cricket Club brothers in Kanazawa :yay:

Reports from FaOI today:

It seems that his 2nd half 4T combo becoming more steady than his first 4T which seems to get popped quite frequently these days

For me, Yuzuru and Javier looked per usual, but Nam looked very handsome with his new 'do.

New interview aired today about Hana Wa Saku and regarding the 3.11 earthquake.

Thank you for the link. Kindly requesting please for a translation of the salient points of the interview from the Japanese posters in this thread. Thanks in advance.

I think 3.11 is the wound that will never heal for Yuzuru as he rips it open when he skates in memory of those who suffered because of it, including himself.

According to twitter Yuzu unbuttoned his top buttons, rolled his sleeves and landed a 4LO-3A in the finale, was really happy and yelled 'Thank You!' really loud to the audience. Buttoned his shirt again.

At the end, Yuzu and Javi came out holding hands to bow to the audience.

I am happy when he is happy.

His unbuttoning his shirt and rolling up his sleeves certainly built up the drama.

PS. Wondering how he'll fare at Broadmoor had he competed there.

Too bad Nam was only there for Kanazawa. I hope we'll see more Cricket bro the coming season!

I wonder if Yuzu is testing the success rate of the last quad comb with an easier jump instead of a quad. Or if he just wants to keep it easy in shows? Or was it really a popped 4T? Mmm... We know he wants to do 3 quads in LP this coming season, but maybe Orser told him to take it easy or something...

No wonder he was so happy, considering the success rate of the 4Lo. And adding a 3A with success too... WTT throwback.

Just like Johnny and Stephane back in their competitive days, these two will be the death of me... and WHY wasn't it broadcast?! I can only hope they'll do the same in Kobe, lol!

I think It's more likely to be a rippon 2T, as we have seen in some rehearsal videos. I noticed people sometimes dont do the difference :)

 Yuzuru, such a teaser !
And Yuzu/Javi friendship is always so cute ^^ Between, a japanese fan made a summary of Yuzu/Javier pictures for the past season here

Reports from FaOI today:
- The steps are getting better, faster, and stronger. Beautiful.
- The hydro and Ina was breath-taking and were held for really long.
- Goosebump worthy/overwhelming
- Overall quality of the program has improved tremendously.

Seimei will definitely become a killer program once the details and problems will be settled ! I look forward the next season, especially GPF and Words...

Ernesto is cute (and the little heart in his post...). Seems like a lot of young skaters are fanboying/fangirling over Yuzuru. To think he is only 20 years old, but already a reference for the younger... I think that means a lot, maybe more than all the medals.

Definitely.
After all, his carrier despite his young age can be easily taken as a reference. He has almost everything. The skills, the strong fighting spirit, the hard work, the humility, always questioning himself to improve.. He went through hard days, injuries, never giving up and ended to be maybe one of the best skaters of the history . . such an inspiration how could he not be an idol !

guys, who do we have to pay to get some footage?? :bang: i wonder if there is some kind of agreement or something? cause otherwise even if there wasnt any video, there would be at least some pictures  hamaguri please come back and give us your report and relieve us from our misery
anyway, thanks for the updates everyone, btw i thought term "tano" is general word for arm variation, not for only one but i might be wrong

thank you everyone for all the updates!

i' m on a blue train bound for Tokyo!☺

one thing.
according to Newbiespectator, today he unbuttoned his shirt in the finale and buttoned it again.
yesterday, he did the same thing.
right before starting 4loop, he quickly unbuttoned. what's more, not just one but two! further, when he returned after landing 4 loop, he again fastened both two bottoms, too quickly! he felt a bit hesitated to have opened his chest largely with as many as two buttons off?! 😁

when he landed 4 loop, he showed his happiest smile! how cute! Nothing beats jump success for him. then, he and Plushenko bowed each other. it was hilarious!

Thank you for the informations ! Hope it was a great experience and you had a lot of fun !
I wonder why he unbuttoned his shirt in these shows? Does it bother him when he jump ? Too tight maybe ?

The second one !! What a line of World Champions !
And Yuzu smile is just stunning  He should give tips to all the miss/tops who sometimes smile like robots because his smile is just the best ever.

The Tano lutz was a jump that Brian Boitano did back in his competitive days, he would do his lutz with his arm up for added difficulty.

HI everyone!!

I was going to wait until I saw Seimei at Skate Canada before I wrote anything about it - but with the constant updates and information coming in, I just couldn't resist…..so much for discipline…so here is my opening blog post on Seimei. Hope you enjoy!!

https://sportymags.wordpress.com/2015/06/27/yuzuru-hanyu-seimei-a-defining-program/

Oh my!!! what a wonderful post!! I also think this program has a great potential to become one of the most original and epic programs ever!!!
and thanks everyone for such a warm welcome!!! I'm so touched!!!

This thread has a discussion on Tano and Rippon jumps as well as how a jump or spin variation may become a signature move of a skater even if he or she may not be the first to do it (http://www.goldenskate.com/forum/showthread.php?53318-Question-about-Rippon-jump). As I've posted before, it would be great if Yuzuru has a jump or spin named after him.

Thanks for the links. From the second link and this link to Meagan's Twitter (https://mobile.twitter.com/mhjd_85/status/615057929541058560?p=v), I'm guessing there are different dress codes: untucked shirts for the 20 and under brigade (Yuzuru, Shoma, and Nam) and tucked in shirts for their senpais. ;)

Thanks everyone for the updates and links. :)

@Maria Victoria, we can name his butt spin after him :p :) lol I can't wait for the season to start and see programs and the costumes! <3

@Maria Victoria, we can name his butt spin after him :p
That spin was invented by Emanuel Sandhu so it's kinda late to call it after another famous skater.
if I wanted my name attached to an element, I'm not sure I'd choose this one
- A Hanyu spin? What's a Hanyu spin?
- It's the one where you bend down and then stick your butt out at a really weird angle.
