Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I would really appreciate it if anybody could tell me when Yuzuru is skating. I live in the USA, pacific time, and I'm willing to pull an all-nighter just to see his LP.

Same time zone I'm in. Men's LP starts at 2:45 AM Pacific. I'm too tired to stay up for it so will watch videos tomorrow. Hoping for better results for Yuzu...he looked so tired for the SP which maybe was due to jet lag.

Sano "You will be perfectly OK. Tomorrw is another day. You will surely get back to the first tomorrow. I'm convinced of it."
Yuzuru "Yes, I will."

Haha bold young man. I love that attitude . Hope he won't have to eat his words tmrw/today :slink:

Perfect! Thanks for the info. He's so determined now and I think that attitude will give him good results, then again I'm also expecting the worse :slink:

Welcome to the club. Alright, 6 more hours to go! Until then, I'll make some coffee as well

lol oh gawd, did you have to give the hours a number like that? XD My poor other friends, all they've been hearing about is figure skating and they don't even watch the sport. Hooray for having all of you to talk with!

I watch with my sisters and mom. COC is great because the time difference is not extreme and we get to watch it live after dinner.
Olymipcs was difficult.

:laugh:Oppositely, I need to get up around 4 am to watch COC while OG was competing during my working time that everybody was watching some games.

I know. At first I thought it might not be too bad, but when I counted the hours I was like "Oh god. Should I really do it?"

By the time it's 3:00, we will all be like this

I guess I should consider myself lucky this event starts around noon-ish my time. Won't be home for the earlier two events live on Eurosport, but the men's, yes. Now the only question is... do I watch the recording of the previous two events first, and not watch Men's FS live, or, watch it live and no doubt get seriously spoiled by the commentators about who won the previous two events?
Choices choices... :bang:

I'm still grumbling Yuzu didn't get assigned to Skate America or Skate Canada. Time difference is too brutal when he's in Asia. Oh well...I will see him skating brilliantly tonight in my dreams.

im nervous for him, a practice report on twitter said he's having 4sal trouble and is less than ideal... im very much worried...

Stay strong yuzuru! Please do your best :)

Have anyone watch his LP full practice? Did he land a luzt in the LP? I think it's not like he is having trouble with the lutz, maybe he was having trouble with the timing of the jumps in his SP.
Or maybe because he's practicing quad lutz? But IIRC Orser has forbid him from all those crazy quads for a while.

Yes he landed a Lutz in LP. I just watched the practice this morning. The Lutz was great, but the others not so much.
I finally understand why Julia once said "he kills himself in training", today he went for many 4S and 4T, successfully landed 2 4S but fell and popped much more. Single 4T were mostly good, but for the 4T2T his hands touched the ice.

Now some low quality photos.

Thanks for this update! I hope he does better for during the competition.
How are the others skaters in practice?

I don't see someone particularly good or particularly bad. Nam tripled his 4S in the run through and double footed the 3A, but other jumps were good. Maxim like half/half on the difficult jumps. Han Yan said he's twisted his ankle a bit after yesterday's short program, but I think today he looks OK, not doing many jumps, though. Finally I really enjoy Richard's program!!

@pandaatlarge: Quad lutz, quad loop, quad sal, quad toe, quad toe with a combo, trip axel marathon, an unnecessary trip axel from a stand still, and the list goes on

I remember Yulia saying that and thought she's probably over exaggerating it a bit, but now it makes sense.

If these jumps just come occasionally, I don't think this is killing himself since top skaters all try difficult jumps. But today, he went one 4S after one in less than 1 minute! He fell on one, then quickly got up, went back to Brian for advice, then went for the next, until he finally landed one! Then he quickly tried another just to remember how to land a good one. He was just trying one after one after one frequently today, wow.
