I'm sorry, I get that everyone is concerned, but let's actually WAIT and see what the diagnosis is, what doctor recommendations are, if he chooses to compete with watered down content for NHK, if he withdraws from competition per doctor's orders, whatever, let's just WAIT and stop speculating and playing armchair doctor. With the huge attention this event has gotten in Japan, like with TV ratings of +30% and millions of views of the incident online, I don't think the JSF/media is going to play mind-games with what is obviously a very serious situation with currently one of the most high-profile athletes in Japan, the backlash (and there's already been some articles criticizing letting him compete injured in the first place, not everybody is glorifying this incident) would be too severe.
We know basically nothing of the situation, so let's just wait it out and keep wishing for full recovery.
