Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

That white neck hole welting somehow reminds me of his older costumes done by his Mom. I like the costume and he looked great in it. Now I really wish he recovers and gives us a chance to see that program in it's planned form. He obviously loves the music, he enjoyed some acting throughout the skating and I think we are going to love it at the end.

Can anyway explain why 2-3 weeks is sufficient for him to recover from all these injuries ? I thought it should be longer since some are serious and he is suffering from multiple injuries.

I think it's to early to say if this time would be enough. Because we expect that after it ends he comes back competitive skating, right? I think we have to trust the doctors and Yuzuru himself that they will do everything in order to recover properly. I don't really care how much time he takes. That term is a preliminary one. I just hope everything goes well for him to stay healthy. That is all that matters.

I just realized after watching this interview with Matsuoka the stiches on the right side of his head can be seen clearly.. ow ow :slink:

I'm glad it was nothing major.

Can anyone tell me about the injury on his chin? I knew he had it stitched. But will that leave any scar? What a pity if he has scar on the chin, though.

A picture posted on Tadashi Aoshima’s FB page:

"If I was there as a support member, I absolutely stopped him on my responsibility because I know his present condition.

I know it is difficult to stop him because I have an experience to make him withdraw from Finlandia Trophy.
It was necessary to tell him what Oser really means in Japanese.
I think support members have to persuade him when they need.
Yuzuru has an impact on many athletes now, so he should not do an impertinent action by personal feeling .

He must learn real courage and judgment.
I felt keenly that support members need skill up more by this accident.
Although he is a gold medalist, he is a youth ,19 years old.
Although he may not be a perfect champion, please cheer Yuzuru who will grow up from now on.”

Cut was quite deep so , yes he will propably have scar after this. Maybe with time it will disappear

a little scar will remain and it will make Yuzu remember the episode... I 'm sure he will study everything about head injury and head injury protocol management very soon.. :)

probably every skater has a lot of scars in his/her body..

I've uploaded NBC & CBC's version of Yuzu's FS. Sorry the quality is not very good because I'm still trying to figure out how to rip the files out from my tv box, so the intermediate solution is filming it with my ipad while having the files play on TV >_<

thank you! i was looking for them but couldnt :yay::clap:

“He must know real courage and judgment”Mr Aoshima said.

about “courage “ I think teen Yuzu has probably too much of it, he's absolutely fearless and his mind has an exceptional and not human control on his physical pain, no matter how much or where it is, may be also because of his long asthma history.

During his FS I was terribly in shock since I knew for sure he would have gone for Quads &Triples fighting till the very end but I also knew about the second head injury syndrome (the third head injury in Yuzu's case ,being the first one with Han and the second one with the ice without any arms/hands protection) which I highly doubt he was aware of. What is the faculty left to judge properly in a teen skater who has just suffered from a double very violent head collision and isn't experienced in head injury (How could he?)?

May we say adults around him had real courage and judgment?

On a lighter note I'm sure Yuzu will be forever the only skater in history who performed a stunning 3A-half L- 3S combo in the second half of the program in such a terrible condition. Just another piece of the puzzle to add to his legend, for better or worse .

Maybe he can use sabila, is wonderful to erase scars.

I was thinking about that too, I hope the scar is below the chin. His pretty face  I will recommend him Mederma cream to reduce the scar once the cut has healed.

Ooops! we all thinking about the scar....gosh we really love this boy

Well we will have to wait for the next 2-3 weeks until he shows up at...NHK I am afraid.

Anyways, someone please read the FS protocol at Cup of China!! His flip was OK with +1 GOE!! Does that mean he has fixed his flip? Or it's just the tech panel was lenient on him? I have no heart to rewatch that performance. I dare not.

will Hanyu have enough time to heal and compete for NHK ?
would hate to see him compete and fall many times again like at CoC

Thanks for the updates everyone

Im still upset on how the whole incident was handled that i cant even rejoice to the fact that he doesnt have a mask anywhere on his costume and it actually looks nice

Im just relieved that both of them are okay and hope yuzuru will have an open mind when it comes to backing out of nhk for the sake of his health.

I think what mr. Aoshima meant that what courage yuzuru needs to learn is to have the courage to back down when necessary and the courage to take rest when needed. I do believe the yuzuru does have a lot courage when it comes to competing but someone should tell him that being courageous doesnt always mean that you have to be fearless and fight through every competition even when his body is not fit for it, he needs to learn that the real courage he needs is to accept that he needs to back down when deemed necessary and to admit that he needs rest to fully recuperate from his injuries.

... and i just figured out that what kurt said during their podcast about yuzuru's ankle sprain was actually true. :disapp:
