Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

This thread move so fast and in my busy schedule finally a day off and there's a lot to catch up *____*

omg this is amazing and this reminds me of the girl who was standing near Yuzuru, his coach and his mom when they were nursing his cut from practicing 3A. This girl beside Nanami coach http://s10.postimg.org/4bjh4rlcn/vlcsnap_2014_12_25_20h24m24s215.png

the photoshop almost looks like her but then only can see her eyes in the video, always wonder if that's his sister when I first saw the clip.

Good luck to Yuzuru at Nationals!! Of course, as a fan I want him to defend his title, but I'd rather him have two amazing performances and not win than win like he did in Sochi. Also hoping that ALL of the skaters stay healthy and do their best!! :cheer:

Here's a transcribed version of their podcast regarding yuzuru

In a word, Kurt has described Yuzuru as a genius. :)

More Hanyu with a hat. They asked him what being an Adult Man means.
Hanyu said:
To take responsibility for one's own actions. To think properly about what one must do and take firm action. That is what I think an Adult Man should be.
He went on to say:
I think a lot about skating. I can make decisions and say 'I want to do it this way'. But as a person, in many areas, I am selfish. And in many areas passionate. In those ways, I feel I have not grown up yet.

But as a skater I will be selfish, I will be stubborn, I will always hate to lose. I don't want to change my true self.

(If other Japanese speakers have a better translation, and corrections to this, please do say so.)

I like that he makes no excuses for his unrelenting drive (he himself described it as a greed) to win and simply states it as a matter of fact.

Thanks to everyone who have generously shared links, translations, updates, and insights.

Now looking forward to Japanese Nationals which is part of my own Christmas celebration. Hoping Yuzuru and all the Japanese skaters in the competition do well. :cheer:

That seems to be the case. A 'Skating insider' said that Hanyu would not go to 4CC.
Well, the teams will be made public in a few days and we will know for sure.

Then I hope he is not that crazy to go and try 3 quads for the first time at Worlds :laugh2:

Is he ? :drama:

...hopefully not. But then again, we're talking about Yuzuru here. Sometimes I wish he wasn't so ambitious with his programs, although technically it's only my fault for being as invested as I am in his performances... :hopelessness:

Morning Report; Hanyu's jump timing is much improved says Akiko who is a reporter for one of the channels.
Yesterday, his timing was a bit off, but today he is looking much better.

The CM makes my X'mas morning..thank you all for the links. He looks very fresh and handsome in the white shirt, skinny pants and that converse like shoes.
Yuzuru rocking it

The adorable mushroom boy grows up to be a handsome young man
Oh yea, very handsome and hip in the white shirt and skinny jeans.

As for the photoshop stuff :slink:...I don't like. Why try and make him look like a girl when he's growing into a good looking guy? I just don't get it. I'd rather see a photoshop with him having some facial hair.

He is so athletic I think he could do many different sports. I know he plays baseball, but what about basketball? With his jumping skills he'd be amazing even if he is short by basketball standards. :yay:

Practice footage from yesterday and this morning.
Also, an interview with foreign media from Spain...
They asked him if he could choose an animal to be, what would it be?
Answer: a Cat.
(just as I suspected)
"They are free, they live as they like. And I have that feeling too.
So, it's not so much I want to be them as I am probably like a cat."

LOL.

I'd love to take him snowboarding with me and watch him launch huge spinning airs all over the place. I'd probably get him hurt though and become a very unwelcomed person at GS.....Yuzu's home away from home ;)

Yuzuru draw 4th group and 23rd to skate, Machida will be in the final group and the last to skate. Good luck everyone! :cheer2:

So nervous

I always like to comment about the starting order because I think it's preferable for Yuzu to go in-between the entire list (and not last, which I'm happy that he's not this time). It adds extra pressure to go last compared to near the middle. I just feel bad for whoever will skate after him, no matter how Yuzu skates tomorrow. Good luck at the Nationals!! :cheer2:

Here is a happy photo of the order draw  Looks like he is the only one sitting in the first row? Nice to see the men having a laugh before the work begins! Good luck to everyone!

It's funny because Yuzuru was born in the year of dog (East Asian Zodiac). I'd say he's like a puppy. A puppy likes to be a kitten. :laugh2:

I also laughed hard when he answered 'popping shower' when asked which flavor of the ice cream is he likened to.
He said 'It looks cute but when you put in the mouth, it's gonna act up!'
(is there popping shower in other countries?)
