Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I have no idea what is going on with his lutz.... he really should consider doing 2x 3F tomorrow in FP instead of 2x 3ltz....

Yeah isn't it weird that his 3F is now more consistent than his 3Lz? He hasn't gotten any edge calls for his flip at all this season (though I thought 1 or 2 were borderline) and yet his 3Lz has been going down the drain... :bang:

I do not agree. 3F him he often "e".

He hasn't gotten any edge calls for his 3F this season. It seems to be his better jump now so it may be better for him to change it but idk

You mean he should just change his layout tomorrow morning, the one he has been training for two years and is somewhat confident in even though he's has very little time to train? Not to mention that the layout you suggest would require that he changes some other jumps as well because of jump repetitions and the fact that he already does one Flip in the free.
His lutz has always been not very consistent (well, for his standards anyway), but he hasn't had time to practice. There is no mystery.

He don't need to change layout, he just can do 3F-2T instead of 3lz-2T

No... he can just do 3F+2T instead of 3Lz+2T for his 3rd jump element. He won't have to change anything.
I'm not sure that his 3Lz problems are because of a lack of practise time. His quads are way better than his 3Lz this season. If he hasn't had time to practise, I don't believe that only his 3Lz would be affected. It was never his most consistent jump but he usually had no problems with it, except for an occasional forward lean on the lutz at times.

It's off-axis and he's always has that problem. Personally I think it has to do with the timing and stamina as well. His luzt combo in the LP has been very consistent.

Or maybe that he started working on quad lutz affected his timing and axis in the air on 3Lz ?

Argh. This is his best program ever, I desperately want to see it clean. *waving placards*

He lands/performs it ok in the FS, doesn't he? Not counting the fall in the GPF, that's clearly stamina issues.

:) good attitude. I am glad that he sounds calm.
And at least no fall!!

I think his lutz problem have more to do with the timing of his Sp than anything else, in the Fp, not counting the infamous Coc free he is at 3 out of 4 landed, and the only fall was caused by his tiredness not axis problem or whatever...

I'm not sure about this, but wasn't it said that he kept popping his 3Lz in practice? I'm sure he didn't practise with the music all the time, so if that's the case, then maybe there's a bigger problem with his Lutz than just the timing of the SP. And he also underrotated and fell on his 3Lz in his GPF LP but that could have been due to him tired, more so than having problems with his lutz.

But he nails 3luzt2T all the time in FS. And his luzt is actually huge (weird isn't it) according to the latest calculation. I think it has to do with the timming and his confidence with the 3luzt3T combo.
