Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

I haven't had the chance to watch any of the videos yet but just wanted to say first and foremost, Congratulations on defending your 2x title! :cheer2: It has been a long, long year for him and now I can see why OGM skip out on the following GP series...It's way too exhausting on the body and mind. Its a miracle Yuzu got through it the way he did especially with that happened at the 2 GP events  He fought through this season in true "Hanyu-style"

I sincerely hope that Yuzu realizes he needs time just to himself after this season. Stop with all the shows and say no to everyone including himself. Its a marathon, not a sprint to pyeongchang and his body isn't in perfect condition either. I want to see him in good health and good spirit in the years to come! Ganbatte Yuzuru Hanyu! :points:

*Just watched the medal ceremony and again Yuzu gets no love from Shoma. He went in for the hug and Shomas like ":sarcasm:" with no hug back :laugh2:

I think this will be the first year that Yuzuru is not getting Otoshidama for New Year

Anyway there is a rumor that maybe Nike will be his new sponsor, after observing the Nike logo so clear in his jacket... any comments? (I want to get to 1000 pages)...

After Yuzuru finished Brian said I think that it was the best Yuzuru program for him this season, and I think jumps(?) are just getting stronger and stronger

Perdita, thank you SO much for the translation. Yuzuru's interviews always impress me, his intelligence and his ability to express his thoughts really are something else. The part about CoC and the reason for his crying really moved me. It fascinates me how this young man can be both extremely strong and extremely delicate and sensitive. He really is fascinating.

I'm not sure how to put this, but whenever I root for an athlete, I kinda enjoy it because it gives me a reason for some effortless excitement. However, in Yuzuru's case I am just happy for him. He works so hard and he puts so much heart in his skating, that I just want the best for him, from the bottom of my heart.

I loved his FP today. He did look very tired, but I felt like he connected with the music better than he did earlier this season. His expressions were so great! He really loves this music :) And the choreo and the music cuts are also really great. I hope to see a perfect version of this FP at Worlds. It really is exciting to be a Hanyu fan, because you never know what to expect. It really is a journey, but somehow I feel that he will conquer it all.

Oh, and I also really really like his "new" costume. Or rather, not the costume itself, but the way it fits Yuzu. At NHK I just thought it was very odd, but now, with Yuzu having regained his confidence, I think it makes him look very imposing, very majestic. I really love it (and I usually don't care that much about costumes).

It's amusing to see the opposite reactions between Shoma and Sota regarding Yuzuru. I think this has something to do with Yuzuru and Shoma competing at juniors together, they technically aren't from different generations, they are only if you consider that they came for seniors in different times (even if Shoma isn't senior yet) So when Yuzuru acts all "Good job little one!" Shoma is like "Stop already, I'm just 3 years younger than you :rolleye:", while Sota almost faints.

At the GPF, he gets the quad sal but not the lutz. This time he gets the lutz, but not the quad sal. Sorry Yuzuru, a price must be paid, you can't be perfect for it's unfair to the rest of the field  But isn't this the first time he fell on his quad sal forward instead of on his behind? If only he had enough height, he would have landed it! I think his quad sal is improving.

Maybe at the WC both 4S and lutz will be ok:laugh: I mean, maybe he just wanted to keep his best performance for the worlds

Yuzuru Hanyu is trending on tumblr again  How many skaters can pull that off outside of the Olympics period?

Congratulations to the 3 time National Champion! :cheer2: Well deserved. He slowly getting back to form which is nice to see. Now he can relax and take some time to work on his programs and his jumps in time for WC

Such an amazing year for Yuzu! We have seen this boy grow up before our very eyes during 2014. I couldn't be happier for him or more proud to call myself a fan of this amazing young man. Let's hope he gets a bit of rest in the next few days (without media) and then heads back to Canada to prepare for the WC with renewed energy and determination. Yes, it would be great to see two flawless programs there! :cheer2:

"Again Yuzu has no love from Shoma" (from the post of shiroKJ). I am sad that Shoma seems so reluctant to hug, give a handshake or congratulate the winner of the competition. I have seen a video on the podium in a Junior Grand Prix, Shoma came in second (Silver medal), the chinese Bonjang in first, the russian Petrov in third. When Shoma came to the podium, he did not look at the winner, no handshake either. When Petrov came to the podium, he shook hands with both. That reminded Shoma to give a handshake to Bonjang too. He is not the one to offer congratulations with pleasure to others.
Anyway, congratulations to Yuzuru, Shoma and Kozuka.
