Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Nice video, I still have nightmares thinking about his quad salchow at olympics  This one time he could have changed it xD He would easily do program with 2 quad toes :drama:

Well at least he landed one beautifully at Barcelona, though I wonder if he will ever be consistent in that jump :hopelessness:

The highlight is a start, but I just don't understand why they are not uploading the entire 101.45 record breaking SP program :bang:

Hello, I have been lurking around this thread and I love how this thread has been discussing about almost anything revolving Yuzuru! As I live in Hong Kong, where Figure Skating isn't very popular (I guess? since news about Figure Skating is hardly reported on TV here), I only got to know Yuzuru through Sochi Olympics. I didn't see his short program there until like recently though, but since I heard from my mum saying that his short program broke world record, I decided to watch him in other competitions, and I happened to find his free skate in Nice (2012 worlds) and I started to like him so much that I can't seem to stop watching him now! (Both on- and off- ice moments of him):drama:

Wish him and everyone of you in this thread a smooth and healthy year ahead! (though it's a bit late to say this since it's already like 9 days since the new year has commenced)

A new video on japanese nationals. Yuzu's part starts from around 9:40
Does anyone know the purposes of yuzu's excercises? I don't get why he throws a ball or pulls the rope for the warm up. It seems he transforms the preparation room into a playground:laugh:

I saw some comments on my SNS saying what a contrast between Brian and Coach Yamada. Brian is accompanying Yuzu with all the exercise while Yamada just sitting there, Shoma standing beside doing his own warm up and Kanako even worse preparing her stuff all alone.

I don't think all athletes need the same type of coach. Shoma getting second in this year's Nationals means Yamada's coaching style is fine :) (Err even if she's not the best jump coach /sigh)

I really enjoyed that documentary though! Yuzu looks so cute doing all the exercises, hee.

I think is different, Yuzuru was warming up, Shoma and Kanako were putting on their skates, don´t think Coach Yamada need it to help them with that.

So true. But as long as kanaka and Shoma don't complain and still achieve good results then I guess it's not a big problem. Brian is very easygoing and supportive, but not all coaches are like him.
