As far as I remember, when he was standing on the podium he tried to hold back his tears. I don't know why he happened to be upset though.

The last 2 minute is the JN12 medal ceremony. i can't find the whole ceremony anywhere on the internet. There are rumors that someone from the audience said bitter things to yuzuru, but this video does not show it (I think the japanese media will never release such scenes to the public though).

He does kinda look sad
Although then, he wasn't favored to win, look at him now! He has accomplished so much and is the top athlete in the world! bet you that audience member wants to take back whatever mean things they said now.

He looks quite stone-faced as opposed to his happy smile at 2013 and 2014.
-He may just be discontent with his performance or, it could also be that someone said something unkind to him. -If so that's really horrible and they should be ashamed of themselves.
They all look a bit underwhelmed.

But the story has a good ending...Hanyu continues to win over hearts left and right... with his politeness and kindness, and respect for other athletes. Even if people still don't like his skating style, they can't deny that he is a world class sportsman.

it is upsetting to see him like that if something really happened , before watching the video i thought maybe he was emotional because he just won his 1st national title but after watching it i changed my mind. he is very well aware of his shortcomings and working really hard to improve himself but in the meantime he tries to balance it with what he can do best, with his technical side, doing axels in the 2nd half and doing them in combination and one other combination in 2nd half, i think that people who think he didnt deserve to win doesnt look at that objectively, besides dai won FS and yuzuru won the title with his SP which was perfect

I must admit I was one of those people, once upon a time, except I was behind my laptop screen haha! Not to make excuses for those people present that day, but I understand. Daisuke was my favorite; Yuzuru dethroning him was so painful at that time... Eventually I fell in love with Yuzuru though, and learned to love both Yuzu and Dai, so the past doesn't matter hehe

Yes. And he does not want the ace title and welcome competitions from all skaters including the juniors. He guided and encourage the juniors example like we saw with Shoma at Gpf. He knows that he cannot win all the time and one day these juniors will overtake him. He is mentally strong, I'm sure he can sense what's going on, but he let's his skating do the talking and continue to improve and being the best that he can be as a person and sportsman.

Oh my gosh! I can't imagine the pressure standing on the podium after someone said something bitter to you like you don't deserve to win! Poor yuzuru, hope he somehow managed to make some of these people take back What they say or even turn them into his fans, and continues to conquer more hearts in the years to come.

I don’t think that someone said something bitter to his face directly. anyway whatever happened in the past he is stronger now and
All that he had experienced, only made him even more stronger . We are worrying over nothing
