Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

thanks a lot
If you're interested I translated the FP. I never translated before so there might be some mistakes
[M]: And just imagine if he hangs on as long as Voronov he could become Olympic Champion another two times.
[W]: Yes (haha).
it would be awesome if he decides to continue after 2018 (of course if he is healthy) but he said he would retire  maybe he will change his mind, and its interesting that they gave the example of voronov instead of plushenko, maybe because he isnt competing this year, but its funny

I'm actually quite interested in knowing What kind of coach he might become if he truly becomes one :laugh:, though I also want him to continue competing if he is healthy enough after the next olympics...

I would only want him to continue only if he could be doing what he is doing in his top shape. I definitely would not like to see him struggling like many skaters in their last career years ;) But I think he already set his goal for next Olympics and retiring after that, that's why he is pushing so hard now

Thanks a lot for the translation Pooh91 ^^. I agree with Handomi, even though for me it would be ideal to see him stay after 2018, I wouldn't like to see him in a bad shape, that would be very painful. Only if he truly wants to keep competing and he doesn't have major health problems. Anyway I think he really is gonna retire after 2018 :(

Shukan Gendai is featuring Yuzuru's article this week again.

What happened to you, Gendai ?

I guess there may be an enthusiastic fan(s) in the editorial staff

Nah, they just realizing he sells. The staff is really slow, obviously, at this moment there are probably more Yuzuru fans that haters, so talking good about him will bring them more sells that talking bad.

I agree with you, seeing him struggle through this competitive season is such a heartaching experience that I certainly don't want to have again. Wish him all the best for the coming seasons and hope he'll be healthy and trains "slowly, gently" and not overwork himself.

P.s. Would he be the kind of coach that might make his students bring fluffy tissue covers to competitions  and I wonder if Pooh-san would be his assistant coach if he becomes a coach

Do you know some Yuzu fans around you that you can talk to (it may help)? I assume you are a fan girl?

Haha I think my boyfriend's had quite enough of my Yuzuru fan girling.

In all honesty, I just miss seeing him on the news reports/fan cams of his practices

I can totally imagine it!! And putting a cap or something on Pooh so that students will know that he's in charge as well!!!!!:laugh2:

i would love to see it as well! it would be even funnier that if his students are more mature than him and carry his tissue box :laugh2:

or let Pooh San watch his students train or let Pooh San accompany his students in kiss&crys when he's busy with other students ?:laugh2:

I've just finished watching the third part of TSL's interview with Shae-Lynn Bourne. At the end of the interview she was asked to say the first thing that comes to mind when a certain skater's name is mentioned. When Yuzuru's name came up, she describes him as:

"...in some ways, 'alien'. I don't want to say alien, but he has a... he's so like...um...really competitive. I'd say very competitive. All the time I think it drives him. Talented....but other somehow..different in some ways. I don't know how to put my finger on it exactly but he moves differently in the world."

you can watch this part at around 52:04 of the video :D

I would say I agree with Shae-Lynn, when I first saw a vid of him skating, despite being "raw" he was captivating. As Dai said, he commands attention both from the audience and the venue despite the Bambi falls. Heck, even now I can't find a single word that would perfectly describe him. Ethereal would be close, maybe that gives the "out of this world" feeling. And the stuff he does on ice, anything about his 3As; as they say he makes them all seems effortless and we do know scientifically FS is a pretty demanding sport.
