Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

There's this point I think we should make it clear.

Orser only told the media that Yuzuru would fly to Toronto soon at 4CC ONCE! That means he only said it ONCE and nothing more. And he knew about Yuzuru's sprained ankle as pandaatlarge confirmed on her recording. After Ms. Kobayashi said "No, Yuzuru is injured and not sure when he will fly to Toronto", the information has been somewhat consistent. Orser didn't mention about that again as he didn't go to conference room (also as pandaatlarge said on Twitter). I think the reason was because he was busy with 4CC and didn't have the latest update from Yuzuru. Simple as that.

Everything from then on is cooked and overused by the media. Some website requoted Orser, some others requoted Kobayashi... and that's why so many people are so confused right now. In fact there is not much infraction from both sides except the info about him flying back to Toronto.

Now, Orser says Yuzuru has challenges so they haven't met from Nationals in the latest interviews. Does this mean anything? It means he KNOWS what Yuzuru's challenges are, and it's in PLURAL. I think this time it simply means that Yuzuru's health condition is not ideal to come back to Toronto where it's insanely cold right now. It doesn't mean Yuzuru and Orser have conflict or something like that.

I think it's possible that at the moment it is not good for Yuzuru with bad asthma to train in super cold weather, he needs to rehabilitate safely and gradually and recheck his condition often in Japan. So nothing serious between them.

He only trained 5(or4?) days before NHK 2014 (without running through the program with music), 7days before GPF 2014 and 3 days before JPN 2014.
I think he learned a lot from those experiences last year.

He has been invited to many award ceremonies, from Jan, but he didn't go to any. He doesn't even appear on TV show, EVEN the Sendai TV (his hometown). Except the Valentine day footage from Ghana, we have seen NO news from him.

Even if he had conflict with Orser and wanted to stay home, that doesn't mean he couldn't enjoy his status in Japan. He can go to any event he wants like in the summer. He can practice in Sendai, and go to events/ceremonies or do CM as no one forbid him. Yet we have seen almost nothing from him ever since Nationals. It's like he completely disappears even to Japanese people.

gotcha. you were just saying it's not just Toronto/Brian? I misunderstood thinking you were saying he was hiding away/had something else going on. So we agree? I guess you train some everyday. Ceremonies/interviews/whathaveyou aren't what I'd classify as 'fun'. He probably just wants to train lightly and rest. and play monster hunter. Besides, how much do you want to bet that if he had been doing media things, the haters would be all 'he should be training!' 'if he can do this he can be in Canada!' Though if he's still in Japan I guess he'll do something tomorrow? heck that might be why he's still in Japan.

I also don't want to worry about injuries we don't know the extent of. I can't handle all this conspiracy and worrying. World's need to come soon, bringng what it may before we all expire of IYHS.
About Yuzuru working with ShaeLynn for us to see perfect POTO: I think it's just like not expecting/want medals. Especially with everything that happened this season, it's a okay with me if he doesn't silence all critics by removing all his faults this season.

I think Japanese people trust their doctors more. And health care in Japan are top level. Even though from Japanese people, top medical of the world is in US.

Anyways, as there are still 2 weeks until WC I hope to do something REALLY productive. I want to make a video about Yuzuru's jumps with details and friendly explanation (all type of jumps) as he has the textbook technique and he jumps all 6 jumps, unlike the Russian men who often ditch the Flip.

This means I will have to use Adobe Premiere again, it has been such a long time, I dislike this program but I can work with it alright. :ugeek:

I'd like to ask for some resources, I hope our members can help me with the following:

1) Website with good (easy to understand) explanation about all type of jump techniques,.
2) Yuzuru's many performances in HD quality, I mean HD because there will be slow motion.
3) LAST BUT NOT LEAST: since Flip is Yuzuru's weakest jump, I need some recommendation which clip/performance that his FLIP actually looks okay. Other jumps of his, no trouble at all but his Flip is a bit problematic. I need a Flip in which Yuzuru actually had a slight inside edge in the take off. Until now I haven't found any since all his Flip are always flat or were taken from a far angle I couldn't see the Flip right. I need suggestions.

I am not worried about Yuzu/Brian relationship. He can't find a better coach. They might look a bit weird these days, but we all have good times bad times ups and lows in interpersonal relationship. So nothing really serious.

What I am concerned is his health. What is holding him back from going to Toronto? So I am trying me convince myself it is just that he wants to spend more time with family and that WC is in Asia. Well, I am not sure if it is convincing. But I sincerely hope it is not his health that is preventing him from going to Toronto.

This is not a big project but I hope I can finish it before Worlds. And after that maybe I might do some videos about his spins and other moves in the field. But at first it's his jumps I want to finish. I have found enough HD clips of his performance I think. All of his jumps are wonderful.

But his FLIP is still the problem. I want to know if someone can help me, is there any clip that Yuzuru actually did okay with his FLIP? Even if it's in practice it's okay!!
