Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Nope I don't think so, from the latest updates he made (which was last summer in his 'free talk' with Oda and some other interviews), he said that he could only manage to do 4 1/4 rotation, which means 1/4 rotation short of a 4A, but yeah, that shows at least that he's interested in trying it :drama:

Though I really want to see a beautiful 4A, since he could jump 3A so wonderfully, I'm only happy to see it if his body is able to take it and he's training safely, if not, i'd rather i never see this jump in my life!

Oh ok thank you, interesting! I said that because I saw on tumblr that when he was asked about quint jumps recently, he said he tried 4.5 rotations already. So i assumed he managed them.

Great video, thanks for the link! I like also how Mura was watching very closely, knowing Yuzu had to be careful after popping the 4T. Funny how Yuzu's voice breaks when he cheers for Satako-chan.

Seriously, Kanako looked exactly like all of us when we watched: "Please please let him skate clean!"

As far as I know, 4A is not safe for health. So, even if Yuzu does land one in practice, I highly doubt it would be put in a program unless he has a way to train it safetly (after all, with Papa Orser as a coach, maybe?...).

4Lo may be possible but I winced when watching it, I thought he was going to twist his ankle. I don't think I'll like seeing this in a program, from him or anyone else. 2 quads in a SP? I hope not. I think Kotvun tried this once for this season and, well, even if he's not at Yuzu's level, it got him in trouble. One in SP is more than enough.

He does plan on going to 3 quads like it was planned for this season (before the accident). It could mean 4S, 4T and comb 4T-2T? Then he could keep the 3A-3T as well in this layout? I like that comb.

4A is really an out of reach thoughts now ~ it feels like a myth. try to attempt it once is possible but to try do it in a program practicing it many times sounds like a crazy thing to do.

Yuzuru seems to be determined with that quad loop tho. I think he plan to put it in his prog in near future.

This was sweet (and quite sad).
Kanako ask for forgiveness in the k&c and both Yuzu and Mura shake their heads, smile and tell her she did great :')

Yuzuru says bye to christine (i think more like to his POTO, this season but didnt want to change the users idea XD), its these little things he does gets me everytime, i think thats why he is one of the most artistic if not the most artistic skater out there

I almost cry when I see this! It reminds me of my feeling when I saw the movie or the opera. So sad but the beauty of the sadness! Yuzuru has become a master to present that all!
So glad he skated this program though so many people make jokes about how the music is overused. He really seems to love it (and so do I) and wants to express his own feeling about it.

You know the main problem with overused musics like Phantom, or Carmen or whatever aside from that it is indeed used a lot, is that usually the programs and performances are subpar. But then once in a while you have a masterpiece like this program by Yuzuru or the carmen by Virtue/Moir and then the deep emotion and strength of the music are really matched and it's wonderful. The funny thing is I don't even like the music from phantom but i adored this program nonetheless and it even make me like the music more now!

I wonder how Shae-lynn Borne will assess his performance now as compared with his performance of poto at gpf, I would love to hear her comment about the little elements yuzu added in himself (i suppose it's himself?) :)

I hope that Yuzuru will not put more than 2 quads in FS, one quad in SP. If more than that, he will face more risks to fall or pop the jumps and he will lose points. Besides quad axel or quad loop are not good for his health. Look at Jason zero quad in SP or LP, but he almost got 180 points in FS. With that score, Jason can win medals in competitions. Kovtun is more ambitious with quads, but he did not success, did not score well. So more quads is not worth the risk of falling or pop the jump. And the risk of injuries.

Remember the lady nbc commentator said during Worlds SP like she is seeing the program for the first time as there's little details which he kept adding.

Worlds
SP: clenched of the fist after the end pose
LP: he remove the mask at final pose

WTT
LP: putting mask? at final spin

These are the ones that are on top of my head now. Any others that you gals/guys noticed?

I honestly doubt there will be 2 quads in future SP. However, 3 quads in FS is possible considering that was the original layout for this season. Of course, he may not go for it right at the beginning of the season, but will eventually as the season progress. I love quads, but he'll need to keep on gaining more and more stamina to be able to skate clean that way. And, of course, to avoid injuries.
We have to trust his coach for that. I'm positive he'll plan something for that if they confirm to go for 3 quads next season.

Well, the "bye bye" at the LP is new. :) But he did put the mask back on at GPF too, didn't he?

Regarding the gala, I'm also really looking foward to Team Japan EX. :) I wonder what they'll do.

Edit: I watched Yuzuru's FS again and I still giggle at Chris with the mini-Pooh in the K&C, it's just too adorable. Bless him. :laugh2:

So, the season has come to an end. Time for Yuzu to take a "real" break!! He still has to have that follow on surgery, rest/recover from that….before he starts a new journey again. Here is my recent blog post. I will still try to post some entries during the off season, hope you will enjoy those too.

Time for us fans to take a mental break as well…to recharge for next season - what is promising to be an AMAZING ride - with Plushenko and Chan back!! While they are "older"…..they still have admirable talent, so it's never safe to count them out!! Of course, Go Yuzu Go!! :)

I did notice that this time around he started covering his eyes while doing his final camel spin while he usually does it when he changes to a seated position.

Very nice post! At least, Yuzuru said that he was still quite happy with his FS despite popping the 4T, but of course, not fully happy because while it was clean, it was not as planned. Ah well, next season we'll see what he'll bring because it is confirmed that there will be 2 new programs (tho I wish I remembered the article/video for that).

Yup, with Chan and Plushy back, it will be quite the ride... Honestly, while the coming back of Chan as me being "Well, why not?", I can say that I'm NOT happy that Plushy is coming back... the guy is decided to hurt himself fully. Even if he did announce he would compete again, I hope he will realize what a grave mistake he's making. As a fan I'm upset and worried that he does not realize he has to let go, and stick to ice shows and coaching. :hopelessness: Anyway, that was my 2 cents about this.

We have not seen Chopin and POTO to the full potential, but I hope the programs for the next season will go just as planned, with no injury forcing a change of layout. Rest well, little prince!
