Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Could someone who speaks Japanese kindly tell me what Yuzuru says before and after his oly performance? at 1:50 in the video http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x25y7w0_140914-%E3%82%AD%E3%83%AA%E3%83%88%E3%83%AB_sport
Arigato before?
thx

They are guessing what Yuzu was saying

Below is the translation by http://this-is-chris-colfers-world.tumblr.com/post/118716669090/140914

First he said “Well then, let’s have fun/let’s enjoy this”, then directly after the FP he said “This was fun” and then he repeats it a bit more emphasized. In the end he says something like “Wow, so many people are here”

Thank you everybody for compliments on my editing skills, I'm happy you like the edit! :o:

I totally agree with Carol Lane's assessment that this program totally shows a new level of development for Yuzuru as a skater. After this, I don't think he can anymore be simply pigeonholed as a technical skater. Like Patrick, Yuzuru's speed and skating skills give him the time ("so much time" per Kurt Browning) to do justice to the intricate choreography, particularly the majestic step sequence where the Spanish commentators noted every movement has a name, and even add his own personal flourishes.

Full credit also to the choreographer Jeffrey Buttle, who on the basis of this program and Javier's "Black Betty" is my personal pick for IceNetwork 2014-2015 Person of the Year.

I love the program so much, I rewatch it often and I can't seem to get enough.

Interesting thing about speed and "giving him time" that I noticed while editing: Yuzuru's preparation for the quad seemed shorter at Worlds than at GPF (it gave me problems) so perhaps that's why he fell on it.

Wow, it was so sweet of him to help Kanako in such a dodgy way.

Yes it seems like he is a knight errant to the TJ women, i.e., helping Mao out when she was placed in an awkward situation as to whether to hug PM Shinzo Abe as yhmafan previously noted; making sure that Cathy gets her due from the audience in her last gala appearance in competition. Actually, I wouldn't mind if he will portray a knight in a future program as he obviously has a romantic streak in him, besides other knightly attributes.

A very imaginative and at times startling montage of Yuzuru being portrayed as a knight, among other things: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_gYVdgIrW2E.

Thanks to all who posted updates and links. :)

Why can't people just let it go! It's been over a year since Sochi and people are STILL complaining over the fact that Hanyu won with a few errors (a fall and a hands down). Why can't they see the beauty and artistry that IS Yuzuru Hanyu! I had someone tell me today that his win was controversial because he should have been penalized more for the fall.

nice nice, keep them coming! seriously though, i wonder how would patrick react to that
btw, i noticed once again it was kaitlyn who started the quad battle at WTT, she is becoming my favourite person, we might expect a quad battle at every gala she is in

:laugh2: I didn't even notice that! Kaitlyn's become the officiator of quad battles now :agree:

Who do they believe should've won? Everybody fell on that day.

Haters gonna hate, it's best to just brush it off. One of the things that comes with flying high is people trying to put you down. Just smile and let that people stay bitter and denying the truth while we enjoy of Yuzuru's talent :agree:

If my memory doesn't go wrong or i didn't misunderstand it.
I saw her go to ask Yuzu to start quad battles in NHK and GPF Gala, too but Yuzu shaked his head to her request.
it's off-camera scene and maybe it's just my feeling.
Just share what i saw at that time.

:agree:

it's a very fascinating trait for someone who's so young!may be that's why he played Romeo so well at 16-17, I remember English commentators said every lady in the audience would have liked to be his Juliet at 2011 GPF (where he literally brought down the house!) :)

Patrick: I watched your performances, I just lied to the press.
Yuzuru: Pooh will haunt you. :rolleye:

The 'caption this' posts are really hilarious! (especially with the aftermath of Patrick's interview) I'll give it a try:

Patrick: You know, I am going to be completely honest —I only look to the skaters that are pushing the boundaries.
Yuzuru: Thanks?
