I have watched FS since 6.0, since Kwan, Plushy and Yags. I have to say this time is the most exciting time to live as a FS fan.

And what's so great about Yuzuru's wins today? Because despite the fact that all his biggest competitors were clean before him, and to skate last, he still won the competition by over 38 points. Now, this is what makes this win a legend, and this is the kind of competition Yuzuru loves to win.

I was a Sasha Cohen and Plushy uber back then myself. Sasha was a frustrating head case but still my favorite skater even to this day, so the ladies for me aren't as exciting anymore. The men though, I love Plush and I always will (and I love Daisuke a hell of a lot but I wasn't quite as into skating during his best times), but Yuzu pretty much reinvigorated my interest in the sport. And now I'm finding that I'm enjoying so many skaters in the men's field particularly.

No, not crazy at all! Have fun! What are your seats? Not sure about the Hyatt but I booked at this other hotel that's about a 15 min walk and it was more affordable than the hotels closer to the TD garden. I cancelled it though since my cousin's letting me room with him and his fam. Maybe you should make a thread about it so that it's not buried among the posts here? Good luck!

Actually, I think Patrick understands what he is up against, albeit begrudgingly. He said Yuzu pulling off these quads was impressive. He said he's having a hard time catching him. Yuzu now gets the PCS he deserves which will make it an uphill battle for everyone (Patrick included). With nearly a maxed out PCS (that Chan almost gets as well), the differentiator will be the tech...and it'll take more than just another quad or 3 axel. He'll need 2 more of each.
 
Well, it's on tv right now, 2pm local time across all the time zones. And, Kurt didn't say anything throughout the entire performance. They spoke a little bit at first when he was being introduced, like how he owned the stage before he even started and said that the program didn't need any help from them, so they were going to let the skating speak for itself. They were silent for the entire program. Then on replays, for the second 4T, Kurt said Yuzu looked down at the mark on the ice after the second quad toe (Kurt thought it was UR) and gave it a look as if to say how dare you quad toe!! He was just really impressed. He also said he has to compete against his own ghost for the rest of the year, in a way.

He was very emotional indeed, it was amazing to watch live. The mistakes broke the spell a little, but he always quickly drew me right back in. His body expressed the music so dramatically, there were so many lovely details. There was this little moment where he threw his arms back, then stilled them for a split second and than just sort of straightened them back like a string, right on a small music note. I wish I could go back in time and watch it again.

Other than that, it's so evident how music and good mood gets to him, he was grooving and air-guitaring in his place before joining the choreography, lol, and then his big rock star slide had everybody laughing. :love:

I have been so busy running around, I wouldn't have had time anyway to check out all the videos and stuff, but I am really looking forward to being home in two days so I can properly catch up with everything on the laptop.
Oh wait, there won't be time because of that pesky Star Wars movie that will be eating my life (home on Tuesday evening, movie on Wednesday 10 am, talk about careful planning!)

Who was it here in this thread who called Yuzuru a Jedi? I am sure I saw something like that when I checked the thread this morning. Whoever it was, thank you, I haven't been able to get the mental image out of my mind. :noshake: Have there been any manips or cute manga style drawings of that yet? *grin*

Pamigena, not sure what is on my recordings, I think you're safe, though. All I know is that I just saw that I accidentally recorded Yuzuru jumping up and down when Javi landed his quad. Bwahahaha. So cute!

Well, I'm also a big Star wars fan so it just came to mind when I first watched his FS this season:laugh:

(and I also hope some creative fans will come up with nice fan art :biggrin: )

:laugh: He was hands down the shiniest person at that gala and that included all the girls! Seriously, he was sparkling like a diamond!
