I just got back from the rink. I have loved that SP since day 1 and I am honoured to have finally seen it skated cleanly live. An absolute masterpiece. Perfect in every way. Intense and focused. I had tears in my eyes. My love for Yuzu just continues to grow.

Congratulation to Yuzu. I was afraid of him not doing the 4t in combo and lose too many points. I was hoping he could at least add a 2t if his 4t landing is not good. His 4t landing wasn't that great tonight either, but he somehow added a 3t, so he went clean again.

I am starting to wonder if tech specialists all hate him. He got level 3 for his stsq again. The tech specialists are more harsh on him than anyone else. If he doesn't deserve level4, then nobody deserves level 4 either. Do the tech specialists not want his scores to be too high? Actually, I was somewhat expecting level 3 step when I heard the tech specialist at this WC is Canadian. I guess he will get level 3 for his LP steps too.

I'm sorry for kovtun. He again didn't skate well after Yuzuru. He gets very unlucky draw.

Now that I've finally regained my sense, he was just....wow. This program will be dearly missed, I'm only sorry I got to see it live just once. He looks huge on the ice as his presence is immense. He has both a strong and a soft feeling to his skating and it only leaves you in awe.

I will probably write more later but right now, I will go to sleep with this fluffy feeling in my heart. :luv17:

Do you think judges could give him a chance for a new WR?

I think his 4t3t is worse at WC. Overall, it's probably about the same level as his GPF performance. It would be a bit more difficult to get a new WR at WC when judges have their own favorites and are not as generous as GPF judges. He didn't get as many 10s as he did at GPF.

Yuzuru Hanyu: "To be honest, I am very, very happy right now, more so than after NHK Trophy or the Grand Prix Final (Jackie Wong)

He is smiling! He is skating with joy of love for skate. That’s yuzu I wanted to see. Yuzu loves figure skating more than else. But tremendous pressure or so occurring from figure skating also press him. He struggles, and opens the door. It’s yuzu. In the future, whatever happens, he will conquer it.

Happy for you! I’ve well known about your love for this program through your blog. We couldn’t imagine happier result than this.

Yes! He looks bigger on the ice… And he has several factors to watch, which differ with each other. His attractions are so diverse.

His FS draw doesn't give much chance for a WR in LP I guess. He's early in the last group and he must go perfect with every single jump to earn more.
I agree his 4T3T was less perfect tonight, honestly when I watched it I thought he would not manage to do that 3T but he has the immense power, the ultimate competitive hunger- he just pushes his limits like nobody else. He was MAD after that SP practice I'm sure. From the tiny clips from IG and PJ Wong interview I got he regretted that incident but he was MAD, the demands perfection. I am not surprised people saying he is so intense during practices it is almost scary to be around or get in his way. He must control his anger and reproduce it in power staying calm. I want him strong and long term targeted, not reckless. I get he wants the title back. I just want a balanced FS, not furious one, you know.

It's hard to say. He is so far ahead of everyone else after the SP, so maybe judges are willing to throw big scores to him if he goes clean on Friday even if he doesn't skate very late. Judges usually save scores for skaters who they think may give a better performance than early skaters and have yet to skate. Judges would not be saving scores for anyone after him when he skates clean because nobody after him will give a better performance.

I still hope in the future he will switch the order of 4t3t and 4s in the SP, so he doesn't risk doing no combo if his 4t landing is not good.

ETA:
I don't mind him being fierce (but not losing temper) if that helps him focus.

"Hanyu had been rattled earlier in the day when he nearly collided with Kazakh rival Denis Ten, who got in his way during practice. “It didn’t affect him tonight but I bet you he had to go back and do a lot of soul-searching and release the demons because he was carrying it right in his chest,” said his coach Brian Orser. “He was angry. I was telling him, you need to breathe and let it go. You have to move on. Because he’s too good to let that stuff bother him.”

I still wish we see that moment but Japanese news omitted that one were Yuzu yelled at Denis. Even though his face wore his feelings. Thanks God he let most of that anger go before the skate. But that roar at the end was beastly. Hang in there, Yuzu! Bring your happy self back!:cheer:
