Thank you both hamaguri and mikaboo! I don't know that his previous book was published in 2012. I was assuming it was published around the time he won OGM. That is very nice of yuzuru, what a kind admirable young man. :thank:

Anyway, was this message a video/audio message or the organizer just read out his message during the show? Considering there is no confirmation yet about his attendance at kobe and nagano, I don't know why it seems like he was seriously considering in attending thus he hasn't confirmed he would be unavailable for those 2 as of yet.

From Twitters , they just read the message without his voice/image before the performance of ballade by pianist, fukuma-san.

Not exactly Yuzu related but guys- have you seen this? Russian Pair Astakhova- Rogonov filmed a trailer on their new program. I LOVE the idea!:rock: Even Youtube skating kings Shibutanis haven't done anyting like that. I'd secretly hope other skaters to follow the idea...:agree2: I mean... I mean... if Japanese TV could film something similar for Yuzu... :yay: If he doesn't get the chance to perform during summer shows...

He did skate RJ1 again as an EX in the 2014 WC gala and he was more polished at that time. But the performance seems quite different from his 2012 performances because he had grown up. Some programs can only be performed by certain skaters at a certain age.

I think I love RJ1 specifically because it is unpolished. It was a raw, talented young skater showing his enthusiasm for skating and performing. An unpolished gem has a certain beauty that a polished gem does not, and of course, vice versa. Sometimes figure skating programs can seem too perfect and too contrived and while polish and flawlessness is the ultimate goal, sometimes it is nice, mainly with young skaters, to see that rawness. It shows you potential and promise for the future while you eagerly wait for the evolution.

I couldn't have said it better. I think R&J 1 and SEIMEI are perfect examples of the transition from a young, raw and talented young skater, into a polished and flawless performer.

With RJ1 which I first saw from an ice show Yuzu was born as an artist for me. So that what makes this program so very special to me.

exactly. When he did it as EX it didn't have the same charm that it had back then. It was the perfect time for that program.

:yes:I feel that RJ1 carried the special emotions he was feeling at that time of his life. I think those emotions reflected the general feeling of many Japanese people at the time, and so the program become something special. But of course, I am glad he has continued to grow as a skater and person past that time, and we see how more polished and strong his skating has become.

I do absolutely love that he performed it as an EX when he did, because that program held such powerful memories for his fans for many years. I was crying and smiling during that performance; to see how far he came from when he last skated it in competition. I will always have a special love for RJ1.

And (because this forum seems to have its own special love for discussing his costumes:hands:) I'll say his RJ1 costume is one of my all-time faves:biggrin:
