Just doing a bit of record keeping, for the books

Records accomplished by Yuzuru Hanyu in the 2015 NHK Trophy (As complied by PrincessBeanySkates)

  • First and only person in history to go over the 100SP/200FS/300Total barriers (100 SP barrier was broke by Yuzuru in 2014 Sochi Olympics)
  • Yuzu beat his own WR SP score by 4.88 points
  • Yuzu destroyed the previous WR FS score by 19.32 points
  • Yuzu obliterated the previous WR total score by 27.13 points
  • This is only the third time a skater has successfully completed their entire planned program content in both the SP and FS without any negative GOE’s in the IJS (Yuna 2010 Olympics and Patrick 2013 TEB are the other two).

  • This is the first time a skater has skated a SP and FS with all level 4’s and no negative GOE’s
  • Yuzu’s FS was the first time a skater has skated a FS with all level 4’s and only positive GOE’s (not even 1 zero!)
  • This was the first time Yuzu has skated a clean SP since the Olympics.
  • This was the first time Yuzu has skated a clean FS since he won Junior Worlds back in 2010

  • This was the first time Yuzu has skated both a clean SP and clean FS since 2010 Japanese Eastern Sectionals
  • This is the first Grand Prix event Yuzu has won since NHK Trophy in 2012 (but he’s won the GPF twice since then!)
  • Yuzu would have finished 9th [2015 NHK trophy] using just his FS score
  • Yuzu’s FS score was just 0.03 off his total score when he won Junior Worlds in 2010 (216.10)

  • This was the first time Yuzu tried (and landed twice!) a 4T-3T in competition
  • This was the first time Yuzu tried (and landed) 2 quads in the SP
  • This was the first time Yuzu successfully landed 3 quads cleanly in a FS
  • This was the first time a skater has successfully landed 5 quads in a single competition (Attempts have been made by skaters Kevin Reynolds and Boyang Jin)

Some more number crunching for those interested. It was done by Neveitalia and this is the translated version (google) :handw:

thanks for sharing!! but i have a question to make it clear (title says Yuzu vs The World thought but still ); this data doesnt include Yuzuru's previous highest TES for LP right? cause i am pretty sure Yuzu had the highest TES record for LP with 2014 GPF which was 103,30, even his LP TES from GPF 2013 (102,03) is higher than Denis' 100,45 :peace:

and i noticed while looking for results that 2014 GPF results isnt at results page

Yep cause it wouldn't make sense to use his own WR's against himself :p so they use the 2nd highest scoring skater instead.

The Shibs posted a message and part of it said "Skating at Big Hat Arena in Nagano and seeing the Olympic Rings was especially inspiring. We are working towards 2018 every day and looking up at the rings at the end of our Free Dance was a special moment."

Reminded me when Yuzu pointed to the Olympic rings after his FP...kind off saying that is my goal to become #1 at 2018 Olympic and this is my journey towards that. Gambatte Yuzu :hap10:

I agree with you that he wants to say his goal is to become #1 in 2018 at Olympics (and not to say he is #1 now) He will achieve his goal, I am sure, he deserves after all issues he surpass in the past year, his hard work and natural talent.
Go Yuzuru ! :luv17:

Yey!! Finally, someone made this a gif :hap93:
This was exactly my fave moment :D
I'll be looking at the gif for the next few hours hahahas!!!

^^^ Here is another link of Yuzu in 2007 NHK...just 322.40 the way he stand and hold the flag

By the way, look at the first two numbers of each score....i'm trying to figure out how to remember these scores as my auntie brain having difficulty to remember except for the total score :palmf:
106.33
216.07
322.40

Woah!! would his next score be 43X.XX?? :drama: LOLS!!!

Edits: I have made a little kinda borderline not-very-special video of Yuzu, compiling his beautiful smiles. Hope you all will like it (the piano piece is from the ost of Rurouni Kenshin called 'her most beautiful smile' played by me  )

you are good at piano :luv17: loved it!
Thank you! I suddenly got very emotional about yuzu today and I had an urge to record this and make a video of him! (Maybe because his birthday is coming soon or idk why?)
I have to say I fixed my piano foundations all thanks to yuzu who encouraged me to be diligent and to not be afraid of difficulties!

This sit spin with hand was incredible

But this 9.18 transitions mark in SP is still headache for me. I don't know where the judge who gave 8.50 for transitions was looking at seriously. There should be 10's across for transitions in his SP

That sit spin takes my breath away every time that I watch NHK SP.

:) The Polish Eurosport commentators can rival the British Eurosport ones in their fanboying. And not forgetting Tarasova as well :agree:

If anyone is interested uploaded Yuzuru's SP from Polish Eurosport with english subtitles :) [LINK]

I like these commentators! They seem quite fair and very knowledgeable! And also big fans lol

Will you be uploading the FS? I am curious to hear what they say :) (one thing that made me sad is that the Spanish tv didn't broadcast the event apparently because their comments are always so enthusiastic and they are huge fans of Yuzu)

Thank you for your dedication. My heart was filled with happiness to see it. Yuzu seems to be a kind of inspiration for you, and keep encouraging you to push the boundaries. I come across the idea that the last message of Pooh to yuzu is also yuzu’s message to us.

Yeah, it’s a pity. I can’t forget their fangirling especially at the last year’s GPF. Hopefully yuzu will deliver nice performances also at Barcelona!
