OH so the media finally found something he is not good at... they caught him struggling with his tie just before the draw and have to ask Kozuka for help, who tied it perfectly before passing it on to Hanyu-san. Very telling pictures!

Ah so he doesn't really know (or just unfortunate time) to tie the tie.. It's ok haha.

Btw HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE! Hope you have a joyful one. Also, best of luck for Yuzu! Hope he'll bring us joy in this end of the year. AMEN. :cheer: :agree:

And.. why did Yuzu come up to the front before the actual drawing for the guys begin? I thought he began the draw but turn out it's not. Also I wonder what's on that bag (sponsor bag?) haha sorry that's random. Anyway they look like school kids taking their draw for... a showcase performance or maybe for their walk in the graduation ceremony or something.

Yuzuru wanted to create a new knot called the quadruple Windsor. Unfortunately he just don't have enough time to do all the steps of this complex knot.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Half-Windsor_knot

"Since 2015, the famous ice skater Yuzuru has been trying to create a new Windsor knot called the quadruple Windsor. Unfortunately the knot is so intricate that it takes 330 seconds to finish all the steps. The execution of the quadruple Windsor has not been done in public, only in private practice. It is predicted that the first public display of this special knot would be done in 2016."

Hanyu-san has been selected to be a guest judge at this year's Kouhaku (Japanese yearly new year's eve show on NHK). I know this show but don't know how to best describe it to those who might have questions, but it is quite an honor!

Its a singing show (competition?) between teams of very famous singers, the red and white team! I think he was invited last year (but not as a judge) but could not come due to his surgery... I assume he will be going since he did not go last year.

Wow, that's quite amazing. It's the most prestigious year end show in Japan and it lasts for hours with tons of acts. The acts are divided into 2 teams, the Red and White, and they battle it for the final win at the end of the night. Is he going to be there the entire time? Looks like January is quite busy for him.....now I'm really curious about 4CC :scratch2:

I think Yuzuru (and some other skaters including Satoko respectively) did the preliminary draw to decide who to start the main draw, and actually he did this for the top two groups of men.

I don't remember him being invited, but they had a music performance on the show with him appearing in the background video wishing him a speedy recovering....i think.

Practice report: Seems he popped the Sal but landed all the other jumps in the SP run-through.
Just do it in competition Yuzu.
Listen to your body and trust your training! Just like Brian says. :cheer:

He was invited but had to decline due to his sudden surgery. That was the whole reason why they played Hana wa Saku and him in the background.

For a second I read it seriously thinking it's the big deal lol. Oh Yuzu.. looking forward to that showcasing!
On a side note. I started learning how to do the tie when I was in school because the new tie needs to be tied half-Windsor/Windsor style. And a few times some friends wanted me to do it for them..

Thanks everyone! :).
Now my tension is getting max.
The last two performances of SP, we can see totally different type of Chopin between NHK and GPF. In a word, in NHK, a bit “strong” Chopin, in GPF, “having subtle nuance”. Today, what type of Chopin can we see tonight?
Go yuzu! Just be yourself (and do quad Sal!)!:hap10:

I want him to put on the other day’s haori-hakama at Kouhaku. It’s more fascinating than ordinal suit, I suppose…
