I haven't caught up with the thread yet, but saw this appear on the Dutch public news website. It's pretty much unheard of for Dutch news to report on the short programs of figure skating, usually only after the medals have been handed out they will do a short report. P: We’ve seen good (skaters), but this 21 y/o boy keeps amazing us ever since he was 15. With 2 super classic (?) programs, the ones used by Yuzuru Hanyu. His preparation ritual, and he also has 2 quads on his SP.

I finally saw the Eurosport guys and it reminded me of something I wanted to say last night but forgot.
When he goes to do the step-sequence towards the end of the SP, you can hear Brian shouting "Go!" from the rink side and I adore that moment! Yuzu exploded then and it all kind of makes such an amazing whole now. Just lovely.
Oh I've also decided this Yuzuru is my favourite Yuzuru. Warrior Hanyu. I loved seeing the passion and the drive and the emotion fueling him to greater and greater heights. Right on Nicky, these are the moments when true champions show their colours. Such a wonderful skate and I am going to miss this SP.
(If anyone had told me a few months ago I'd be happy to get sick and stuck at home, I'd have laughed but boy did it slot in place for me!
