It seems that after Japan’s spring vacation week (the beginning of May), three kinds of new clear files of xylitol will appear! Provably around 5/9? I’ve already had tons of gums for his clear files at home (Actually, i usually dont eat gums.. )… I may add gum more..

Another story. I like this article, feeling his mother’s love.:)
http://www.hochi.co.jp/sports/winter/20160424-OHT1T50191.html
“Olympic gold and silver medal speed skater, Shimizu Hiroyasu, he gave yuzu his sign when yuzu was an elementary school child. They have asthma in common. Yuzu’s mother asked Mr.Shimizu “would you please teach him that he can even if he has asthma?” and he signed.”

I was able to read the translation of this blog in a Japanese blog. I find it interesting! This blogger is awesome. I hope someone will translate it into English.
Edit: Now i've noticed Meoima's post. Thanks Meoima!

Thanks! I saw her analysis about Yuzu's seimei and chopin program too! She is quite knowledgeable :agree:

For example this is her analysis of Yuzuru's transitions
Spread eagle - 3 turn - Mohawk - 4S - Spread eagle
Choctaw - Mohawk - Chasse - 3 turn - 4Т
Ina Bauer - 3 turn - Chasse - Counter - 3А - Change of edge - Counter

Thanks again Meoima! :thank:
Seeing it laid out like this, it is actually surprising that yuzu has less two-foot skating and crossovers than patrick. I am currently reading her breakdown on seimei and chopin (with the help of google trans). Too bad this is NHK breakdown, since I am a bit curious about what made his Stsq at NHK gained a level 4 while at both GPF and worlds they are only level 3.

Yuzuru in the LP of GPF program made mistakes on several complex curves, so the level was lowered in accordance with the criteria of complexity., why Yuzuru didn't get level 4 for stsq: During the step sequence analysis of the sp at GPF he did following:
Difficult steps and turns:
1. Twizzle (1 h / 2 and so forth to / hr)
2. The bracket (1 pr / h)
3. counter turn (1 p / h and 2 pr / h)
4. rocker (2 n / 2 , and / h)
5. Loop (RFI s / h - the transition from the edge to the to flat, does not count), and LFO etc. / h)
6. Choctaw (both of them, they are questionable: first RFI-LBO (flat edge), the other RFI (flat edge) -LBO)
We get:
performed 13 steps and turns in both directions of 3 types (twizzle, counter, rocker), loops and 2 choctaws.
The maximum level of footwork is level 3. For 4 level, he did not have two types of turns executed in both directions. - loops and 2 choctaws were invalid, in LP Yuzuru moved from the edges of the skate blade on the wrong again , so it doesn't count

I see.. Thanks for the explanation! :agree:
Is this the same case at worlds too? both his SP and FP only got a lvl 3 too, right?

Yuzuru's diagnosis has been reported from ANA.

He has "Lisfranc joint ligament damage" (左足リスフラン関節じん帯損傷) and needs 2 months to recover completely.
He'll stay in Toronto for treatment. ANA will report on his progress again in mid-May.

I hope for a full recovery before he even thinks about doing ice shows. Odaijini Yuzuru!

Get well soon, Yuzuru!!! Relax and de-stress yourself and I hope you recover completely :cheer:

WC sp they gave him level 4 first, then panel reviewed and downgraded to lvl 3, in LP he got lvl 4 I watched LP only once tho , I will check later the program porperly, put on slow mo , I am very curious as well :) but I didn't have heart to rewatch them

Omg, I thought I am the only one who only watched it once. I can't take the heartbreak so I have yet to watch it again, haha. I have yet to check the protocol for LP for worlds but in SP I checked it and remembered he got a level 3 so I assumed it is the same case with his LP too. Thank you so much, marin!

thank you for the report, i hope he will really take it easy! and great to see you posting again!

They don't specify the grade of the damage, but judging by the time of the recovery he needs I'm guessing it's a lower one. In worst case he would need 6 month for full recovery, they say 2. get better and come back stronger Yuzu

and thank you for your wonderful performances at worlds under such condition! (although i confess that i cant still see your fs since it's too hard for me..)

I wonder whether Yuzu should have said something about his injury in press conference like Javi did. He never said anything in 2015 as well with the surgery and ankle injury. We would never know them if press or Orser never reveal them :drama:.

Does he need to be in cast?

I don't want to sound harsh but what is the use of walking around and saying that he is injured, he is using painkillers, his leg is swollen ? Yuzu himself never justifies his sub par performances by injury. If you mean he should have said because people knowing he is injured wouldn't blame his mentality and stop criticize him, It wouldn't help. Some people will say forever:" he fell 5 times" at CoC even there was obvious reason why he did , some people will always say he screwed 2014 NHK , even knowing that he hadn't practiced for 3 weeks, some people will always say he bombed 2015 wc even he didn't train for 2 month and coming to Shanghai his muscles were lost. He never justifies his poor performances with his health, that is Yuzuru I love...he never blames ice condition, air conditioning systems and south winds :palmf:

"He's got nothing to prove"???

Guys, fangirl rose-tinted glasses shouldn't blind us to the reality.

Yuzu's Olympic title was won with a subpar free skate. What Yuzu has got to prove is that he is, in fact, the best skater in the world and that is proven with great performances over other competitors at Worlds and Olympics, not at GP events, even the final, not even with breaking records.

Sorry, Yuzuru still has something to prove.

And good, because he won't rest on his laurels and he'll keep fighting.

And uh guys, not many people actually write Yuzu off just because Shoma jumped 4F. Sure, Shoma has suddenly become a serious contender but look at that Olys predictions thread, Yuzu's still firmly in the lead.

You don't have to win the biggest titles to prove you're the best in the world. Michelle Kwan and Mao Asada never won OGMs but they are still regarded as one of the best of all time. On the other hand, there are skaters that have won the biggest titles but are entirely forgettable (e.g. Sarah Hughes, Evan Lysacek, etc.). There is an element of talent required to win these big titles, but there is also the element of luck. You can't discredit all of Yuzuru's achievements just because it didn't happen at the "big events", specifically Sochi free and 2016 Worlds free. I'm not counting 2015 Worlds because we all know how he couldn't train as much due to his surgery.

How can someone who broke so many world records in one season and was the first guy to break the 100, 200 and 300 point barrier in the SP, LP and overall score respectively, still have anything to prove? Even some of the skaters who have won the biggest titles and are considered legends in their own right may not have achieved as much as Yuzuru has in their entire career.

Of course Yuzuru himself and his fans all have goals/expectations for the coming seasons and we all want him to win, but that's not because we think he has anything more to prove, but rather, because we're his fans and we know how much he wants it. Or at least that's what I personally feel.

I'm sure I'm not the only fan who thinks this way, because even if Yuzuru loses at Pyeongchang (touchwood!), I'm sure many skating fans (not just Yuzuru fans) will still think he's one of the best of all time.

It is by no means viewing the world through rose-tinted glasses to say that Yuzuru has achieved more than it is needed this season to prove that he is the best in the world.

It is just arbitrary to say that breaking records doesn't count as "proof" of being one of the best skaters in the world but winning big titles does. By that logic, you would say that Evan Lysacek is a greater skater than Yuzuru.

Shared by EchoCheng @YHIFG FB:
This is an official answering from FaOI organizer. In the finale paragraph, they ask audience who buy the tickets to watch Yuzu skating not to resell the tickets hurriedly because he doesn't confirm being absent from all FaOI this season yet.

I hope Yuzu is not pressured to skate in the shows. Sometime I wonder whether his team decided the treatment to be in Toronto to avoid the pressure in Japan by organisers, sponsors etc.

I hope he will skip FaOI all together. He needs to rest 2 months. And the first FaOI is on May 27th. If he skates at FaOI, he is forcing himself. Please don't do that Yuzuru!!

And you really can't even say that because Yuzu is still more decorated than Evan was if, aside from world and Olympic gold, you throw in the amount of national titles and GPF titles, etc. If Worlds is all that matters then there shouldn't be other competitions. I think this sport is about giving people performances they'll remember. Like I really don't get the "something to prove" logic for an Olympic and World champion who has proven himself to be the best in his field. And not only did he win worlds and olys, but he stuck around and improved!! He is far and away a better skater than he was in Sochi and even back then that was enough to win over everyone. Javi won his first worlds without winning either phase of the competition. And during this worlds he STILL didn't do it clean and neither of his scores were WR scores (though his free is very deserving of the second best). It's not really fair to put it on Yuzu's shoulders to HAVE to be the clean one all the time.
