is yuzuru's injury a lisfranc injury where his midfoot bone/joint (?) is dislocated/fractured or a lisfranc ligament damage where his lisfranc ligament tore? Or are these two interconnected and principally the same? If not, is the treatment similar? Thanks :thank:

This was never specified in the reports we had. But since they did not went for surgery, I'm pretty sure there was no broken bone, in this case, it's surgery with plates, screws and a huge recovery time. In his case, the ligament must be torn, for what I understood. What we don't know it's if the lesion is partial or total. If the ligament was fully torn, it could have caused a dislocation (which could have need surgery). This remains only speculation since we had very few infos about the nature of the wound.

Ah okay, thank you so much! :thank: Considering he is already in rehabilitation and starts skating a little (from a magazine interview that someone in his FB group mentioned) now, I would assume it is not to that extreme extent. Thank you once again!

Yeah, with this injury it very much depends on what exactly is wrong because there are so many different injuries that are called lisfranc... and each have their treatments. A lot of the rehab can involve balance, strength, proprioception etc.. It sounds like rehab has to be very gradual, so I am extra glad he is not doing faoi.

In his case what I find interesting is whether or not it could recur. One way of developing this injury is if you plant your foot and twist... and so many movements in figure skating have that kind of motion. I read an article that mentioned using an orthotic in your shoe, and it makes me wonder what things he has had to do, will have to do. One thing for sure, this has certainly increased my knowledge of foot injuries!

Do you know what magazine it was?

This tweeter's recommendation is, Schubert - Der Erlkönig, Zigeunerweisen, Moonlight Sonata 3rd mov, etc.

This Yuzuru is so cool too

Really want to know at least the music he has chosen. Somebody, give us clues :sad4:

Some might remember that I once posted here that I wanted to see Yuzuru with a shaman like costume. I believe that dream of mine has come true with SEIMEI  So, please God, next my dream is Yuzuru in black

When I heard the next FS of Shoma was Piazzolla, I thought of "Oblivion" with Kremer (Homage a Piazzolla) for Yuzuru.

How it would be nice :dbana:

Sorry, guys. My days without any news these days are passing like this with wishes, imaginations, illusions and so on.

That person closed the account for public view so it's not possible to see the designs now. I saw one dark costume with lots of embrodery and some frills in the morning but those twits are all protected. Not a huge fan of those I must admit though. I'd love him to skate clear bright music, maybe even the uplifting one to have a light spirit and fun energy.

I think this it has not been posted here yet: https://youtu.be/zuYJjQY4vb0

It's the video of Yuzuru SP at the GPF 2015 by Italian Eurosport with English subtitles. I don't know if the translation has been made by Lys Alton and Carolina Corsali like those for the NHK Trophy but it could be probable for the latter because it is written "Translation done by Caro & I.".
The video is from the channel of Elena Costa (i.e. Elena C), that Ilariaxyz linked on youtube.

Commentators are Massimiliano Ambesi (white): winter sports journalist and Angelo Dolfini (green) as usual.

Please note that due to the original video by ESP, sound may be slightly delayed.

Good week (and with some news about Yuzuru health and programmes, we hope :).

"Oblivion" is beautiful. Another Piazzolla winner! I could see Yuzu skating to that.

I checked on Facebook and you are right, they were the translators :)

There's something about it that's very appealing. It's kind of subtle but still feels like it has some Piazzolla fire to it. I'm sure Yagudin did a great job with it.

Thanks for sharing! :) are you going to any competition next season?

Thanks for your thanks, Hanmgse, hamaguri & fireovertheice!

I have tickets for the GPF & Worlds. I'll get tickets to Skate Canada or Skate America if Yuzuru is skating there (although I suspect he'll do France or Russia as his 2nd Grand Prix) & I'll go to Autumn Classic if he's scheduled for that (which I think he may do - maybe with limited jumping).

I love "Oblivion"!
Team Japan skaters tend to use the same taste of music (2014 season several skaters get POTO, 2015 was Japanesque)? It feels like they both will bring the similar taste of piece this year. Both Shoma and yuzu have great musicality, but their characteristics, their ways to express are totally different. So even if thier tastes are duplicated, it will be interesting.

Awww, you already have the tickets for GPF and Worlds? Luck you! Have a wonderful time there!
About his challenger series, i think if he get any entry to one of them, it will be Autumn Classic. He was nice until GPF last year. He may feel that Autumn Classic is not bad to start the season.

Or he could go to Finlandia this year, given that Worlds will be in Finland, and he would have an extra week compared to AC. Although if he gets an early GP like SA or SC, it might be best to stay in Canada to avoid too much traveling :)

Is it going to be in the same facility? because otherwise I don't think he would go.
