I was at SC last year and witnessed that he came back with a fighting spirit for his FS after messing the SP. But, it doesn't help me to feel hopeful for tomorrow. Maybe it's because I haven't seen his warrior face in competitions since the worlds or maybe it's just my own disappointed soul. But, let's pray for his health and victory. We like it or not it's so important for him to win, go Yuzu, go!
He was too relaxed in the SP. I think his mind wasn't in the zone. I hope the SP result will fire him up.

thanks!

he already got level 4 about step sequence unlike last year's FP!

That's what I was thinking! Only him and Kevin got StSq4 this time. Looks like him asking Jeff to choreograph a clearly level 4 step sequence worked.

Friendly reminder that time and again how the 3A is a friend that always save him.

yes... 3A saves him in many cases.
and GOE of other elements other than the first jumps are not so bad compared with Patric's .

Whaaaaat Patrick Chan didn't get StSq4 now that's a surprise.

Anyway Yuzuru's stsq looks like it could even get a level 5 if it even exists lmao

Yep! and another friendly reminder that his spins always help pick his score up a bit during a meltdown.

To my eyes, he was extremely nervous. I'm not sure if he can manage his demanding FS but I try to be hopeful and pray for him.

I woke up after Yuzu had already skated. Got sad when I saw his results, but then I realised it was still better than last year and that everyone else was also having rough nights anyway.

Hopefully he'll have a much better skate tomorrow :cheer: FIGHTO !

His mind isn't in the zone yet. Such a long time off competition and no audience might harm him

Interviews & Translations

Kazach sport commentator just said:" Quoting Brian Orser ' Yuzu want's all at once (all the quads possible), while i'd prefer he'd take it slower and work on stpsqs and edges'. That's why people love him, for his boyish hotheadedness". Aditionally she said that Yuzu is 'fighting with himself' and is like a phoenix, at the beginning keeps 'dying'/falling and then rises just like a phoenix.

he feels "kuyashii" very much. he thought "a" when he was taking off with 4 sal. he got a kind of coward.

yes. i think this program itself works well so far. Jumps are only the matter of timing. he looked pale today.

LP order is out; he is skating 2nd in the 2nd group after Han Yan.
Did he say he didn't like to skate second at World's last year? Well it does not matter. Everything is a lesson for him going toward next Olympics. Although I really want him to do well and be happy. And I don't have to worry about him being in GPF since I am going there to see him live for the first time.

He doesn't like going second but well, I hope he can take this as a learning experience and show that he can adapt himself even when thing don't go his way. Come on Yuzu! We'll be cheering for you tomorrow!

I feel like this is putting him down a bit as well. I mean he morally got used to skating before last or the last one and it became some kind of comfy/talisman place for him. It's like someone would move you from your lucky desk to another one just before your exam.
