Yes, the F1 but on the other hand, we watch live on CBC and then, we watch it again, relaxed as we know the results. Silver lining
Yeah, you mean we first check feverishly what the results are and then watch it relaxed... hopefully. :) It still sucks - who the hell cares for F1 if Yuzuru Hanyu's on?

Yes, that. Fingers crossed. And toes!
I have been grumpy too ever since I saw the schedule. The one time it matters and nope. :sad21: They just don't understand the beauty they're missing. Their loss. Massive one.

It's ours too. But on the other hand, not to have to watch it with Grishin/TAT/Trankov commentary... there's something to that! :)

if Yuzuru Hanyu were on F1, I might even develop an interest in cars that drive in circles for hours  are we talking driver or pit babe?

Only if he makes the bloody car jump his trademark 3A! Otherwise probably no - I love him on the ice!

CBC will start to air men's sp at 5:05am EST, and the ladies will be on at 2:10am EST. Since my two fav russian girls will also be at NHK, I am kinda struggling whether to give up sleep at all:bang: BTW, the ice dance time schedule looks idea to me. Maybe NHK could reschedule men's events to the morning next season as I have heard competitions will held in the morning at Pyeongchang?

Ice dance FD is the weirdest time slot. They held the gala practice even before the FD event? How are they even going to know who to invite to the gala before the result LOL. But at least Yuzuru's timing would be pretty convenient for me to watch.

Not to be an alarmist but there's been another big earthquake near Japan, a 7.3, off Fukushima with a tsunami warning and I know we've got posters here from Japan so I hope everyone's all right!

Wait a minute, I did not see NHK's gala showing on CBC's broadcast schedule:dev2: I remember they did air the Gala last year

It's like a tradition for NHK that they put either pairs or ice dance in the daytime. I am not sure how they did the finale rehearsal; like, do they even invite ice dancers to the gala practice? Considering FD event is coming up in couple of hours :cool14:

I heard about the earthquake and tsunami warning. Stay safe everyone in Japan!

I know right! It is always a bizarre thing to me. But at least for Ice dance they will unlikely fall or anything, better than pairs put on Sunday. They will have practice in the morning, gala rehearsal, the free competition, then the exhibition. What a tiring Sunday that must be for them.

Oh dear, , hope all are ok over there!!!! ... I knew they would get one after new zealand got theirs...

i sure hope it doesn't become a trend in the Pacific, i live in an area with a lot of seismic activity. We're surrounded by faults (and big ol san Andreas)

Its in the Tohoku area near Sendai, I hope his family is okay. I hear they're issuing an immediate evacuation..

Everyone who's residing in Japan, please stay safe!

Yes, just recently they thought Cali was in for a big one because of a cluster of small ones... lucky nothing happened. I took some seismology in university... so fascinating, but even more frightening. I find it interesting that a tsunami could pass right under you if you were in the middle of the ocean and you might not even feel a ripple.... I hope this projected 3m tsunami does not do much damage.

I hope everyone is safe, big earthquakes are really frightening, especially because they feel eternal. He must be really worried too :(
